The question mark is Russellville's pass defense. I didn't see it during the preseason but have heard it is suspect, even with the abundance of speed and athleticism they possess. Scoring shouldn't be an issue for the offense. QB Henderson has been the first name mentioned when discussing Butler County the past few years, and deservedly so. Thought it was interesting looking at last weeks game against Edmonson County. They won 35-28 with 200+ rushing yards and only 96 passing yards. I'm sure they were pleased to eke out the victory relying on the ground game. Looking forward to this one. Hope we don't get disappointed.

I like Butler County's chances out of these three teams. They can spread the field against a Russellville pass defense that has been untested. This game has shootout written all over it.

1) Central 2) Caldwell County 3) Boyle County

I am taking that into consideration also 75center. BG is an absolute monster right now....

Is Ridder going to play vs. Bowling Green? May be worth heading over to see the Tigers and Purples matchup... If not, may stick close to home and catch Butler County and Russellville. Been wanting to see Butler QB Rex Henderson in action. And with the way Russellville is running the ball it could turn out to be one helluva shootout.

Final. Not a good start to the season for the Wildcats. Did QB Tyreke Wilson play? He left last week's game early with a foot injury per WKDZ radio's Scott Brown...

QB Jaylen McMurray did throw 3 picks. But still didn't have a bad night overall. 5-42 rushing, 3-6-82-2 td-3 int thru the air. Team rushed for 437 total.

Final. If I saw the update correctly, this was a 14-6 game at halftime. Looks like the Panthers regrouped and took control the 2nd half.

Final. Didn't see game. Muhlenburg basically in control according to WRUS updates on Twitter. Led 42-14 in 4th. Logan scored a couple of TD's late to make it closer. MC QB Hunter Combs mentioned several times, both running and tossing TDs. Good to see Logan score points for the 2nd consecutive week. Young team starting to gel. Sophmore Dontavious Blann had a 50+ yard TD catch and a short TD run. Perhaps their streak will end soon....

I'm with you Racer89. With all the off-season drama in Elkton I would have lost the rent if someone would've wanted Crittenden by only 14.

Don't know how much of a statement this is. Butler County will be a better measuring stick in 2 weeks. Only 2 games I see of real significance on the Panthers sched are at Murray September 23rd and Franklin-Simpson at home October 28.

Not really. Buddy of mine who is close to Muhlenburg's program wasn't expecting this. The result can be looked at 2 ways: 1) Muhlenburg is a little better than usual. Wins/competitive games vs. lower-level opponents but can't play with their 6A brethren is usually the norm. Perhaps they can hang with the district opponents for more than a half this year. 2) Apollo is really, really gonna struggle this year...

Even though this was cross-state rival Portland, it's sounds like it was just another scrimmage. Season gets under way next week vs. Caldwell. Shapes up to be a good game.

Glad to see the Cougars put 14 on the board. Baby steps....
