newarkcatholicfan Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 After kicking my football season off the week before, where I hit the (2016 EKC Grid Friday August 12 at West Carter 6pm Nicholas County vs Fleming County 8pm Greenup County vs West Carter Saturday August 13 at Russell 5pm Bath County vs Raceland 7pm East Carter vs Lewis County 9pm Rowan County vs Russell) Still waiting to see what double headers there are on Friday night. On Saturday night I will venture to Harrodsburg, for the Little Caesars Ft. Harrod Bowl. This will be my first trip there.
newarkcatholicfan Posted July 17, 2016 Author Posted July 17, 2016 On Friday, week zero there appears to only be two double headers. Campbellsville - at Glasgow - 8:00 PM Scottie Bowl Barren County - vs.Metcalfe County (at Glasgow) - 5:00 PM Scottie Bowl And Harrison County - at West Jessamine - VisitNich.com Bowl Elizabethtown - vs.East Jessamine (at West Jessamine) - VisitNich.com Bowl If this turns out to hold true, I will be heading to the VisitNich.com Bowl.
Sykotyk Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Death Valley Bowl doesn't have the Lincoln County game posted yet. But, that's one doubleheader for Friday. This year, I'm opting for a single game. Pineville v. Hazard. Saturday will probably be the Roy Kidd Bowl in Richmond. I thought about Bardstown, but Richmond is more in line with where to head home from. Hopefully can make it in a straight shot after the game to forego the time/expense of the hotel.

LCDAWGS19 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 That's Pendleton County's bye week, so we (PCRO) may try and find another local game to broadcast.
newarkcatholicfan Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 VisitNich.com Bowl will be my Friday games. Had a great time at this bowl game last season. I like that the location is different this year, only because I get to see the games at a site, I have never been to before. I plan on game reports and pics.
Purple Nation Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Purple88 and myself will plant ourselves at LT Smith stadium to watch the Raffertys Bowl in Bowling Green on Saturday, Aug 20. South Warren in game 1 and our Purples in game 2 should be just what the doctor ordered to get our appitites rolling for another great year for BG! High School football is to me the most pure sport there is. Love it

I like that the location is different this year, only because I get to see the games at a site, I have never been to before. I plan on game reports and pics. That's why I went to the VisitNich.com Bowl twice as well. But, never saw the big appeal to return. If this year is at West Jessamine, the stands on the home side, though much closer than at EJ, face to the northwest and you're in the sun for the first game.
newarkcatholicfan Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Like I said the people was awesome last season and like you, I like hitting new locations. I am going to miss the rec bowl.
Sykotyk Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I'm still undecided between the Death Valley Bowl on Friday and the single Pineville-Hazard game at Pineville. I've been wanting to see a game there since driving by it several times and thinking the stadium had a bit of charm to it. Reminds me of Memphis, Texas in that regard. But, it's a single game and much further east than my Thursday game in Clinton, Tennessee. Saturday is most definitely going to be Richmond's Roy Kidd Bowl at Madison Central.
