  1. Or Higgins read this and got PO'ed. Bridges is on a roll, eh? :thumb:
  2. Surprising score at the half. Interesting to see if Lone Oak can make it a game in the second half.
  3. C'mon County, go get 'em.
  4. Call me greedy, but I thought it would be a bigger margin for Trigg at the half.
  5. Thanks DragonFire. :thumb:
  6. Bridges (sophmore) and Mayes (freshman) have been the main threats in Trigg County's backfield this year. Bridges had 250+ and 4 TD's vs. Hopkins County Central last Friday. And yes, he is related to Greg (I don't know how).
  7. This could finally be the year that the region champ comes from District 1. I have a feeling either one of these could be a darkhorse contender. The team that wins this one can use it as a big stepping stone.
  8. Slow weekend at the track, so I'll throw a chip in the game. Big Schools 1) Bowling Green 2) Christian County 3) Warren Central 4) Marshall County 5) Owensboro 6) Hopkinsville 7) Henderson County 8) Graves County 9) Apollo 10) Paducah Tilghman Small Schools 1) Mayfield 2) Trigg County 3) Fort Campbell 4) Russellville 5) Owensboro Catholic 6) Caldwell County 7) Lone Oak 8) Metcalfe County 9) Fulton County 10) Hancock County
  9. Thanks for the update, Scribe. Might make the trip down next Friday. More to come as the week progresses...........
  10. How did Bush throw the ball? Is this team going to continue to feature the run? This team is looking similiar to the '03 team that featured a big O-line, Justin Martin in the backfield and a stingy defense. Am I on the right path?
  11. Not bad for a rebuilding year......so far. Good to see the defense playing well this early in the season.
  12. Score indicates a real barnburner. 00Rocket28, got any info?
  13. Does this make Trigg the early frontrunner for the district title? I'm not a big proponent of "we beat them and you didn't" comparisons, but I'm sure someone else will bring it up.
  14. Way to go Coach Burcham!!!! Congrats to you and the whole staff on your first win!!!!:ylsuper:
  15. Thanks for the info. I couldn't remember if it was Fulton County or Fulton City. Nine posts about a game involving Fulton County......who woulda thunk it??
  16. I remember some of the Fulton County teams from the '90s. Athletes with speed was definately their calling card. I'm willing to bet they are making the longest trip IN STATE this year. Didn't they have trouble this summer with the coach resigning/being fired and having to scramble to find a replacement?
  17. I just saw this matchup on the scoreboard. Is this the mismatch of the week?
  18. In 1998, Muhlenburg North (yes, Muhlenburg North) beat Trigg County 75-7. It was a nightmare to sit through, much less trying to broadcast to the 14 people listening back in Cadiz. I will say, it was a treat to watch Jon Frazier from North (and WKU) rush for over 300 yards to get 2,000 for the season. Funny how you look now and see where each program is at. Weird.
  19. westsider, do you know how Bell played?
  20. Larue County (over John Hardin) Owensboro over O'boro Catholic (not so much the win, but scoring 51 points)
  21. Final. Read elsewhere that it was 21-21 at the half. All Caldwell after the break.
  22. Here's the game recap: http://www.newsdemocratleader.com/articles/2006/08/22/sports/sports02.txt
  23. Here's the game recap: http://www.newsdemocratleader.com/articles/2006/08/22/sports/sports01.txt
  24. Both teams were flat last week. Russellville's 39-6 win over Muhlenburg South was not as impressive as the score indicates. Russellville will win, but only by a touchdown.
  25. I don't understand Russellville jumping 2 classes to 3A. They cited travel concerns as to why they didn't want to play in 1A and I can't blame them. But a move to 2A would have been the same or better than 3A as far as travel goes. Look at this: 3A opponents (their new district) - Adair, Butler, Edmonson and Hart Counties 2A opponents (where they likely would have ended up) - Fort Campbell, Hancock County, Owensboro Catholic, Todd County Central Seems to me that Russellville wants a shot at a couple of district championships in 3A, but they will never get by Tilghman (among others) from District 1 and E-town (among others) in District 3. If they ended up in the 2A district, a championship would have been VERY hard to come by.
