Figs Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Final. Read elsewhere that it was 21-21 at the half. All Caldwell after the break.
westsider Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Cameron Williams scored six TDs for Caldwell ... looks like moving him from QB to a RB-WR was the right decision. He's ill-suited to be the QB in the spread offense, but he's a playmaker.
just 4 fun Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Surprising outcome to me..I really felt Crittenden would take this one by a couple of scores...Does anyone know if Caldwell just played much better this week than what they did against Mayfield or is Crittenden just really down this year?
PtownDude Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Crittenden is really young and they wore down. Lots of vomiting and cramps. The Rockets played hard for a half but just didn't have much zip in the second half. Caldwell looked a lot better than against Mayfield (who doesn't?). Williams caught eight passes for 117 and had 266 all-purpose yards. Bell ran for 104 yards, mostly in the first half, but had problems with cramps himself.
PtownDude Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Also, Williams' six touchdowns ties the school record set by Jerrold Fuqua against Heath in 1997.
PtownDude Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Here's the game story from the Princeton paper... http://www.timesleader.net/articles/stories/public/200608/26/4gZZ_sports.html And a few stats... http://www.timesleader.net/articles/stories/public/200608/26/04h0_sports.html
00Rocket28 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Crittenden only returns 1 Sr starter this year and 1 Jr starter so they are VERY young. We are definately a year away, but I think we should improve a lot as the season goes along. We have 2 6'3 295 lineman, 1 jr and 1 soph and they move very well for there size. Give the Rockets a year and they will return to being the 2nd best 1A team in WKY.
