DragonFire Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 Gotta tell you guys, Central is not 6th out of these teams. 2nd, 3rd, maybe 4th, but not 6th.
Cynical Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 A Warren East fan, cynical? Yes, but with a rational. 1) Owensboro is much like East in that they have yet to prove anything. 2) Hoptown got beat by a very good 1A program, East beat a very good 1A program. 3) I believe Hendo just isn't very good. 4) I have a hard time believing Graves or Apollo would be able to keep up with East. Now I may be wrong, and time will tell, but that's just my spin on things.
westsider Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 I agree with some of your assessment, not so with other parts of it. 1. Owensboro has beaten Meade County, a decent Class 4A team, soundly and on the road, and thrashed Owensboro Catholic. I don't think Warren East has any wins as impressive as those. 2. True, but Hoptown was on the road and still isn't at full strength. Somerset was on the road, too ... a two-hour trip, maybe? 3. Henderson may not be that great. I'm not convinced they are, either, but the win over Evansville North came against a decent program and is more impressive than any of the Raiders' wins. 4. Graves is a pretty solid team. Granted, their early schedule isn't all that great, either, but I still think their first three opponents are collectvely better than Warren East's. I won't disagree about Apollo ... that's why they're not in my top 10. I'm starting to wonder if Greenwood might be on the edge of the top 10. Bottom line ... Warren East's early schedule has been soft. Somerset is a decent win, better than any they had last season, but wins against Monroe and Todd don't make you sit up and notice. If the Raiders were playing Warren Central and/or Greenwood early, we'd have a pretty good assessment of them by now.
