Region 1 Rankings Week 3 (Post your polls here)

I am not against Hopkinsville at all, they honestly have been dissapointing this year. With players like ET and others they should be able to at least be competitive with Male, and they collapsed against Mayfield. You can only beat the teams on your schedule, not theoretically beat others. ACS and Apollo have demonstrated they can at least do that, while at this point at week 3
Not all schedules are created equal, certainly not the ones those teams have played.

Pretty simple answer ... I think Hopkinsville would beat Warren East if they played right now.
Just curious, have you seen Warren East play?

If a team like Hopkinsville loses every time they play a Male or a Mayfield but wins when they play a Pendleton Co or Union Co does that warrant them to be ahead of a Apollo, Warren East, or even Allen Co? I really think Hopkinsville is getting by on name alone at this point. I don't think Allen Co could beat Hopkinsville. But I do think a case could be made that both Apollo and Warren East could defeat the Tigers.

As long as I feel the available evidence shows that Hopkinsville is better than those three teams ... in my rankings, yes.

You're entitled to your opinion.

Yes, they were drilled by Male. They also lost a heartbreaker to a Mayfield team that was probably two red-zone turnovers (one on the 1) away from beating Marshall County the previous week ... a Marshall team that nearly everyone here ranks in the top five.

Heck, even you have Hopkinsville ranked ahead of Warren East. Are you going on name alone, too?

I'm not saying they couldn't ... but I think Hoptown would beat both teams.

I think Hopkinsville is ahead of Warren East and Apollo, but I'm not going to discount them as easily as you seem to.

I'm hardly discounting Warren East, considering I put them in my poll ... it won't be a surprise if the Raiders host a playoff game. If they were playing a tougher schedule, I'm sure we'd have a much better handle on them.

Apollo is probably my #11 or #12 team, and the win over Madisonville looks better now than it did a week ago.

Still, I have a tough time seeing why both of them, not to mention Allen County, are ranked ahead of Hopkinsville.

Who has East beaten, and what is their combined record. I want to know who that good 1A team is?

"East has beaten a very good 1A team"

Somerset is a top-10 team in Class A despite their 0-3 record ... an accurate assessment, I think. Two of their three losses are to teams (Franklin County and Southwestern) ranked in the BGP top 10 in 3A.

Warren East's other wins are against:

Todd Central ... 1-2 with a win over McLean County and 38-0 loss to Russellville.

Monroe County ... 0-3 with other losses to Allen County and Wayne County.

Hardly a Murderers' Row. Warren East used to play county rivals Warren Central and Greenwood in the opening weeks of the season, but dropped them two years ago. To be fair, I think it was done before the current coach came on board.

Wow the name Hopkinsville getting back and forth in different. And people said when Dixie Jones was hired Hoptown would fall off the map.

Is Hoptown a top 10 3A team RIGHT NOW? I would say no. Will they be a top 10 3A team when everybody gets back? I see no reason why not.

Full strength or not Hoptown was not going to beat Male at this point in the season. Could have, probably should have beaten Mayfield with what they had. Losses to Male and Mayfield are nothing to squirm about.

Last year Hoptown started out 0-2 with a thumping to Alcoa and a close loss to Male but the season turned out pretty good from what I remember. It's not uncommon for Hoptown to start 0-2 or 1-2 that's a proven fact. They've never been concerned about the preseason it's about the district always has been since I can remember.

This Hoptown team has more team speed than last years with more potential playmakers. Brandon Ethridge showed a glimps of his abilities with the 70 yard catch and run for a TD against Mayfield and showed the 4.4 speed. When Antwain Loving returns in 3 weeks he will gives them another threat being the teams best athlete. But what this team doesn't have that last years had was some descent size up front. T.J. Shephard 6'4 250 should return next week and he gives them a big body in the line along with Will Beville. When healthy if they continue to play sloppy then I'll be the first to say it. But 2 games into the season I'm not going to pass judement on team.

1) Bowling Green (Showed their abilities when at full strength)

2) Christian Co. (Need to find a running game & can their defense continue to play well after loseing their starting MLB. They've seen 2 offenses that are 1 demensional)

3) Marshall Co. (Best Offensive minded coach in West Ky and the most versatile back)

4) Warren Central (Have the athletes and speed but right now Christian Co. is 2 TD's better)

5) Owensboro

6) Hopkinsville

7) Graves Co.

8) Henderson Co. (One of the better suprises but I'm a little biased to Duffer and staff)

9) Warren East

10) Paducah (Could be dangerous by the end of the year)

By the way, I want to change my vote in the small-school poll, making Owensboro Catholic #3 and Fort Campbell #4. Thanks.
