"3. Henderson may not be that great. I'm not convinced they are, either, but the win over Evansville North came against a decent program and is more impressive than any of the Raiders' wins."

Throw the Castle game out the window: -4 turnovers including in the endzone and two ints returned close to the goal line, 6 guys out most the second half including top two running backs and many of those players went both ways, practicing indoors, and everything else before the season. Evansville North had a 30 + point lead on Castle at halftime last week. North (Christian type speed/plus very big lines) is the best team we will play outside of MO in the regular season. That does not mean we will win all the games outside MO because we won't, but it does mean this young team can be ready by the playoffs.

Apollo and Allen County ... and no Hopkinsville?

Hopkinsville needs to win a game first, before, i put them in my polls. They have enough talent to be a Top 5 team, but I want results from them.

Apollo's comp has only 1 win and those scores make you wonder.

I am really interested in Graves and Mayfield this weekend.

Would Apollo or Allen County have beaten Male or won at Mayfield?
Would Apollo or Allen County have beaten Male or won at Mayfield?

No...but Hoptown didn't either.

Which still doesn't explain why Apollo and Allen County merit being ranked ahead of Hopkinsville ...

Hopkinsville has 0 wins. While I know they have played two tough teams. However Male just straight up embarrassed them, and Hoptown lost to a 1A school, granted a very good 1A team. It's obvious nothing I say is going to convince you otherwise, but ACS and Apollo have wins, until Hoptown gets on the board with a W, I will not rank them. These are opinion polls, and that is my reasoning as to my opinion on Hoptown.

Do you think Apollo and Allen County would beat Hopkinsville? If so, I would wonder why. If not, I would ask you why you were ranking them above the Tigers.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here Westsider, why then do you rank Hoptown ahead of East, when East has beaten a very good 1A team and completly crushed its REALLY bad other two opponents, while Hoptown has been beaten by a very good 1A team and been completly crushed by possibly the best team in the state.

And to answer a question that I know you'll ask; Yes, I do think East COULD beat Hoptown this year. Would they, who knows, but I certianly think they could.

I am not against Hopkinsville at all, they honestly have been dissapointing this year. With players like ET and others they should be able to at least be competitive with Male, and they collapsed against Mayfield. You can only beat the teams on your schedule, not theoretically beat others. ACS and Apollo have demonstrated they can at least do that, while at this point at week 3 , Hopkinsville has not proven they can beat any teams on their schedule. When the week 11 poll rolls around I fully expect to be ranking Hoptown in the Top 5, however this is a week 3 poll and at 0-2 they should not be ranked.

Pretty simple answer ... I think Hopkinsville would beat Warren East if they played right now.
