I think he's doing a good job. Covcath is better now than what he inherited. If you remember, Highlands was putting up 50 in a half against them. There were years when Highlands was 100 pts better if there wasn't a running clock. Covcath is now competitive under Wirth. I think he has the program on the right track. They won a jv game over Highlands last week.

We will meet again. As much fun as it would be, there's no sense in acting like UK1fan. But, it was good to see a dominating performance. I felt like the first half goal line stands by Covington Catholic were aided by the play calls. Very vanilla inside the 10. Highlands is the more complete team now, but you still have to get better for the November rematch.

Old news. Let's just hear the scores. There's still hope for a strong finish.

Its the everybody gets a ribbon mentality. Everybody gets their name in the paper. On a serious note, this town does have quite a few NCC students. The percentage on the sports teams is small, but there's nothing wrong with giving them a small paragraph. Its the long headline stories in a Ft. Thomas paper that I could do without.

It's not a new leaf. I just saw guys out there doing their best. They don't deserve to have their spirit or effort questioned. It doesn't mean I wanted them to win, but I still respect the guys effort. You won't see me call out an individual. I think they will improve.

5-1 is a slaughter. What was good about it if you are an Ncc fan?

Start a new streak. The streak was good. Football in Kentucky is not good. And 6 classes is way too many. I believe there's about 6-7 decent teams in the state on a given year. Then there's another tier of about 9-10 competitive teams. Overall is easy for a team to make the state finals and have lots of weaknesses.

I've seen a few Ncc games. I wouldn't call the line horrible. What I see is inexperience. I also see a team that is overall slow. The speed of the game is slow and doesn't look good. Go watch a Highlands or Covcath game then watch a Newcath game. It's night and day. You can throw quick passes and run the ball and the hole stays open awhile. Good teams play fast. This team isn't fast and neither was Dixie. The guys gave effort and are doing the best they can. Ncc is young and lost a lot from last year. Be patient with this group. They'll be much better next year. I also think the coaches did a good job keeping the games I saw from being much worse. The same coach took Ncc to the finals last year. He didn't forget how to coach.

What your saying is I should have rooted for Bowling Green, and if I don't agree with your opinion of their streak it's sad? The streak included no wins against Highlands or Trinity. It was a nice run, but lacked many signature wins. We can agree to differ on our opinions of the quality of that streak. I'm not saying they weren't a good team during that time either. I'm saying most of those wins were easy.

My guess is if they can't play sports it's tougher to get the scholarship money. I have nothing to base that on, other than my opinion. I believe Ncc does the same thing.

Ncc won the 9th. They did move downstate to the 10th region and were beaten handily. If you look at Ncc's schedule, they don't have a quality win yet. They only possible exception would be beating Highlands, but from reading on here, Highlands is a train wreck.

Ncc is a year away. There's a lot of inexperienced players. They'll be fine in the long run. They have some solid football players. They need to get faster though.

I think Boone wins. I'm not impressed with Dixie.

Did Ncc struggle with Holmes in the scrimmage? I know it was only a scrimmage, but Holmes was not a struggle for Lloyd. Ncc moves to 0 for 5. What I saw out of Ncc yesterday makes me think this is a 3-6 year. They have some guys who are a year away. They'll return to form next year.

I'm glad Bowling Green lost. Most of that streak was against nobodies.

Anyone who believes football overall is on the rise in N.Ky needed to come to this game. The speed of this game is slow. Now I know why Covcath beat Dixie so bad. Penalties, turnovers, arm tackling. Dixie is just fortunate to be lined up with Conner. Otherwise they''re 5th in that district. I think Boone might be better.

CovCath won't win the region this year either. Can someone list the last 10 or so regional titles by year and team? Covcath does great controlling the ball but you need to win the game.

Dixie wins 28-13. I saw NCC against Cooper and they weren't that bad. Dixie should be able to just push forward for 4 yards a play running the ball, but that chews up the clock and not as many points get scored.

Hopefully this is the week Highlands goes over 50. I missed the John Hardin game, but heard the game was much cleaner than the Bryan Station game. The last time I saw Paducah they were on the other side of the ball in the 1992 finals. What has happened to Paducah? I guess the number of students is lower. What's the reason?

Covcath should be number 1. They might have the best team ever in N. ky.

Good topic. I think Covcath fans were looking for meaning. I don't believe it has any meaning either. The Highlands game could go either way. The only thing it means to me is that Covington Catholic still isn't good enough to beat any team in the GCL.

Its good to see Brossart get a win. Are they playing a full schedule? I remember hearing talk of dropping football or not competing in their district for a year.

Campbell was up 30-7 on Ncc. This game will probably be low scoring and could go either way.
