Highlands coming off their most solid performance to date, albeit against a young and talented John Hardin, takes on 1-3 Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado this Sat afternoon. I look for the Birds to continue to get better and work on their total package but not show to much. PT opponents are 11-3 this year so far, so it's not like they haven't played quality competition and their record is a bit deceiving. If they are as athletic as last year, this will be a great game. Should be a great day for football, even for a Sat. afternoon.

The word spanking comes to mind..

Looking forward to seeing the Birds for the 1st time this season.

I hate Saturday afternoon games....

At least it isn't in Park Hills.

Birds 46 Paducah Tilghman 7

I love them.

But then I'm looking at it through a camera lens and hate the field lighting... Friday night or any other night

50-12 Birds.

Hopefully this is the week Highlands goes over 50. I missed the John Hardin game, but heard the game was much cleaner than the Bryan Station game. The last time I saw Paducah they were on the other side of the ball in the 1992 finals. What has happened to Paducah? I guess the number of students is lower. What's the reason?

Enjoy each and every one of them brother. He rides off into the sunset after this season.

As they say...Allen Cox ain't walking through that door any time soon.

My take, from what I hear, they have been very undisciplined, evidently both on and off the field. Have some talent, but it's undisciplined. Some of that in recent years as far as the on field lack of discipline is concerned was due to the coaching staff. Again, what my peeps are telling me, I have no direct knowledge of that.

All of this was BEFORE McCracken County high school came along. With their emergence and becoming an almost instant power in WKY 6A football, I'd say there will be an influx of players that would have probably gone to PT who will now be heading to MC, which will hurt the program even further.

I don't think it'll be a blowout. Highlands should be able to compete with them for at least 3 qtrs..:lol2:

I too watched Billy Jack and the Blue Tornado, from the sideline of course, of the 1992 finals. We had to beat them twice that year. Not bad for a team that only had 35-37 guys on it total. Lets go Birds!

Enjoy each and every one of them brother. He rides off into the sunset after this season.

For obvious reasons, this is the best post I have ever seen on this site...Thanks Q

That is a December sunset of course setting in the Western side of the State:thumb:

Highlands should conquer this 3a team and give them a good spanking as someone said. Tilghman will lose this game and probably lose next week at Hendereson, then watch out. There are many that think they may run the table in 3a after that. I am one of them. After winning the district they have a week off before the playoffs start to get rested up, ect. The future is bright for Coach Rogers, his wing t and Tilghman.
