Poor effort by the Colonels, especially offensively. Highlands had 10 players behind the ball all night, CCH squandered multiple chances to score first in the opening half and just kept jamming it down the middle. CCH played a 3-4-3 the entire night for some reason and it was not effective and really opened them up to counterattacks, while it did nothing for them offensively. I counted 3 shots on goal for Highlands resulting in 2 goals.

First Highands goal came off a throw in, the player received the ball, dribbled into the edge of the box and fired a nice shot far post. Not much attempt to stop him. Second goal came pretty late with maybe 12 mins left off of a long pass into the defensive third of the Colonels. Through ball to a Higlands players and he was in 1v1 on the CCH keeper. Not many threats for Highlands other than those two, but maybe a couple more. Looked like a replay of the CCH/Campbell game. Not cashing in early chances allowed Highlands to play defense and wait for a goal, which they got.

JR cant use the shed anymore for the after game pep talk. Can you say sprint program.

highlands DOMINATED the game. very good defense. Keeper had 13 saves and they got behind the ball all game. good win for the birds and the colonels will definitely be running the sprint program tomorrow before school.

Great game. CovCath dominated possession but Birds capitalized on their counter attacks and got two goals on about 5 shots. Noah Sellers looks like he is back in form after missing about 2 weeks with a virus. His opening goal is one of the better ones I have seen this season. He also had the assist on the second goal. Bryson Day is the real deal for CovCath. That kid has D1 talent written all over him. Hopefully we see part two in the Regional Championship.

Bryson Day looked pretty mediocre this evening from the spectator point of view. but he is a very skilled athlete.

That was funny. You were watching a different game I think. Highlands went into a defensive shell pretty early in the game and it worked for them. The Colonels helped them out with some miscues but I'd be surprised if it works twice in a season. I think CCH has to get used to playing games like that up here and they need to figure it out.

Really nice job by the HHS keeper......tested more in the first half when HHS only had 8 in the box, but true to every challenge.

This sounds like Will Muschamp the other night after the UK UF game....

After a lackluster start to the season the Birds are playing their best soccer of the season. Breslin was outstanding in goal.

I guess that Cov Cath and I have something in common....neither one of us saw this coming! Congrats to the Birds on the win. Very surprising upset.

Great job, Birds! Glad you could prove me wrong and I'm sorry I doubted you.

Not sure what the Florida coach said after the game but I think my summary was accurate. Kudos to Highlands for making the most of the chances that they got and I'd agree their keeper had a good game. I thought the CCH effort/intensity was a little lacking as well.

And, to the HHS fans that stole the CCH magnets off the back of the cars in the parking lots. Classy!

8 games, one clean sheet. Move Parker Kenny back into back line?

I would at least play 4 back.
