Final The Titans are 3-0 for the first time ever.

I would like to see Collins play some defense this week. Historically, Collins hasn't fared too well against Eastern for some reason. Hopefully Collins can figure things out on defense or at least get enough offense to outscore the Eagles.

I almost forgot to mention, Collins made history in another way tonight. Lindsey Creque, Collins' first female football player, made her first extra point in the 2nd quarter to put Collins up 21-20. She went on to nail a few more later on in the game, including after the final touchdown to give Collins a 3-point lead.

Final Obviously there were huge offensive numbers put up by both teams tonight. Bullitt East scored via the ground game and Collins via the passing game. JR Lucas was 21-29 for 389 yards and a school record tying 6 TDs. Dalton Maggard, Peyton Hawk, and Nasean Roseberry all had over 100 receiving yards. Sam Harrod had the biggest catch of the night on 4th down from the 12 with 19 seconds left to give the Titans the win. According to 101.7, Bullitt East's running back Perdue rushed for 284 yards. East had over 500 total yards on the ground.

Yikes. Seems like it will be a long season for North. I hate to see them down, they played some really great games against Collins there for a while.

I've been hiding among the high and mighty elites of Shelby County. :lol2: In all seriousness though, this should be a pretty good game. I'm sure Bullitt East has improved from last season, and Collins has a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball. Still, the Titans are the favorite and a loss would be very disappointing.

Collins went 3-1, beating Highlands, Fern Creek, and Floyd Central. Their one loss was to Ballard in 3OT. They left due to the heat.

Assistant Coach Ken Cates has been promoted to be the new Head Coach.

Union County will be the place to be tomorrow night

Male vs. Ballard and Butler vs. Holy Cross are two great semifinal matchups.

Apollo over Owensboro Catholic could be considered a mild upset. Owensboro Catholic won both of the regular season match ups between the two. They have now been defeated in the first round of district play 3 years in a row after losing in the state finals in 2013.

I read somewhere that their coach said he knew they hadn't played a very tough schedule this year and that they would really step it up next year. I believe the article I read mentioned them possibly plaing McCracken County, East Jessamine, and maybe Scott County, among others.

Collins definitely has a good chance at making it out of the 8th. I am a little concerned with the lack of games they are playing here at the end of the season, but they should be well rested for the postseason. With such a young team, they will have plenty of chances at making it to Owensboro the next couple of seasons. Anderson County is a very good team with a lot of seniors. The 2-time defending champs aren't going to give up their spot easily. I'm hoping to see another Anderson/Collins regional championship. That would make for a fantastic softball game.

Final This game started last Tuesday and was stopped due to weather with Shelby County leading 3-1 in the 5th. Due to more rain and Collins playing the LIT, the remainder of the game was made up tonight. Collins started out by scoring a run in the bottom of the 5th to cut it to 3-2, then scored another run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th to send it to extra innings. After a full game worth of scoreless baseball, Austin Jennings finally came through with a bases loaded single with 1 out in the bottom of the 15th to win it 4-3. Collins out hit Shelby County 14-5. Will McDonald picked up the win, pitching all 11 innings tonight. Will gave up just 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 5. Jennings finished the game 4-7 with 2 RBI. McDonald also had 3 hits. This win gives Collins the #1 seed in the 30th district tournament.

Some impressive freshman stats from MaxPreps: Brianda Owens (Clay County) is batting .444 and has a 14-2 record with a 0.86 ERA. Brylee Hage (East Jessamine) is batting .482 and has scored 34 runs in 23 games. Bailey Conley (Harrison County) is batting .500 in 14 games and has a 3-2 pitching record with a 2.38 ERA. Hannah Hunt (Greenup County) is batting .453 with 24 RBI in 23 games. Those are just a few that I saw. Of course, most teams don't post stats to MaxPreps and some that do don't always keep them completely up to date, but they still provide for some discussion.

Maddie Martin is batting .623(!) for Carlsile County. Bullitt East has only posted stats for a few games. In those 6 games Taylor Roby batted .611 with 9 RBI. She went 6-0 in the circle with an ERA of 0.51 and 49 K in 41 IP.

Montana Fouts is batting .542 with 30 RBI. She is 17-0 in the circle with a 0.13 ERA, 255 Ks in 109 IP (and only 11 hits and 5 walks!), 8 no-hitters and 6 perfect games. Not bad. Teammate Eden Mayo is batting .459 with 24 runs scored.

According to the stats that East Jessamine has posted to MaxPreps, Hannah James is batting .570 with 10 homeruns this year. She is also 24-2 in the circle with a 0.83 ERA, 266 Ks in 160 IP, 5 no-hitters and 3 perfect games. I'd say that's a solid sophomore season.

Holy Cross won 5-4 in 8 innings.

Great weekend for Oldham County. They seem to be playing really good ball after their trip to Florida. Collins had a great showing as well going 5-1 and defeating 3 top 25 teams in Meade County, South Warren, and Anderson County. The fact that Oldham was able to defeat Collins after they knocked off Anderson means we should be in for a really fun 8th region tournament.

Carson Murray leads Collins to victory, ends Bullitt East's perfect record

Final Collins rallied from a 6-0 deficit to hand #8 Bullitt East (16-1) their first loss of the season. Freshman Carson Murray picked up the win and led the way at the plate with 2 hits and 4 RBI. Cassie Rannells added a 2 RBI triple. This was a great bounce back win after a rough game last night. The Lady Titans host Carroll County tomorrow night and are playing in the Capital City Showcase this weekend.
