Any big upsets yet?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if there has been any major upsets during districts.

Fern Creek over Mercy? I am not able to follow softball as closely as I do some other sports, but this seems to be an upset?

Montgomery Co. (9-22 on the season) beat Bourbon Co. (23-9) last night.

Wasn't Bourbon Co. a favorite in the 10th?

Collins is also an upset. Would have challenged for 8th region title.

I would say Harrison is the favorite, but I would say Brossart may upset them

This one surprises me.

Not really a big surprise to me, Bourbon struggled to beat Paris 2 times and lost to NCC. Not saying NCC isn't any good, but not a powerhouse by far. I think the 10th Region is very much down this year on REALLY good teams IMO. I would say it's anyone's to take

Shelby County beating Collins and Fern Creek beating Mercy were pretty huge upsets! Again, not that Shelby County and Fern Creek are not good teams, but those two losses were completely unexpected.

Apollo over Owensboro Catholic could be considered a mild upset. Owensboro Catholic won both of the regular season match ups between the two. They have now been defeated in the first round of district play 3 years in a row after losing in the state finals in 2013.
