The semifinals are set: Oldham County (22-15) vs. Anderson County (28-8) - 8:30 PM Collins (23-10) vs. North Oldham (20-12) - 6:30 PM I'm sure these four teams will love driving an hour and a half one way to play each other.

Final North Oldham advances to face Collins tomorrow night at 6:30. Collins defeated North Oldham 9-2 earlier this season.

A 2-run homer by Hannah Renfro puts Collins up 11-7 in the top of the 7th. The Lady Titans have hit 3 homeruns today.

Oldham County/Grant County began around 10:50 this morning. All games will begin about an hour later than scheduled.

Collins/Carroll County will begin at 12:00 PM. All games have been pushed back two hours.

Anderson County is the favorite as the #5 team in the state. Collins and Oldham County are their two biggest threats. Anderson went 1-1 against both this season.

Can anyone in the 1st keep McCracken from run-ruling them? I know Tilghman kept it close in the district title game but also got blasted the other two times they played.

Final Will McDonald pitched a complete game giving up just 2 hits and striking out 13. Shelby County ends their season at 16-13, while Collins is now 21-10 and will play Anderson County for the district title tomorrow night.

Collins opened in the fall 2010 in Shelbyville and serves the west end of Shelby County. Like Tommy said Collins and Simon Kenton are both in the 8th Region. I too expected a close game, but it appears Collins may have finally gotten their offense rolling.

Big win for Trimble County. Oldham has been really struggling lately.

Final Blanton Creque pitched all 5 innings for the Titans giving up 3 hits with 3 strikeouts. Will McDonald lead the offense with 4 hits and 5 RBIs. Sean Lawrence took the loss for SK. Collins is now 17-6 and will play tomorrow night at Franklin County.

As we near the end of the regular season and head towards postseason play, I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone thought about the top teams in the 8th region. I'll start off with my personal opinion of the Top 10: 1. Collins 2. Anderson County 3. North Oldham 4. Oldham County 5. Henry County 6. Shelby County 7. Simon Kenton 8. Spencer County 9. Trimble County 10. Owen County A few comments: It's Collins and Anderson at the top and everyone else is far behind. North Oldham is making a push towards the top but are still a bit behind the top two. I put Collins at 1 simply because they beat Anderson 2-1 earlier this year. Those two will more than likely face off in the district title. I expect Anderson to take that one but I would be surprised if those two don't face off for a third time in the regional title. Collins has always had the offense but new coach Charlie Lecompte has the Lady Titans playing very sound defensively. Their two young pitchers (Freshman Paige Oldham and 8th grader Carson Murray) have come a long way and are giving up less than 3 runs a game. Batters 1-9 can hit and if their pitching is on they can beat just about anyone. Anderson is the perennial power and this year is no different. Allyson Moore and Mia Aldrige are two great pitchers and Bailey Curry and company have no trouble knocking in runs. North Oldham is having a good year at 15-9 and have recently picked up a few solid wins. Oldham County, on the other hand, is falling fast losing 5 out of the last 6. Like I said, in the end I think it comes down to Collins and Anderson, but anything can happen in the postseason.

Final from the LIT at Collins The Titans are now 14-5 heading into tomorrow's game vs. Lexington Catholic. EJ Burk picked up the win by striking out 9 in 5.2 innings.

Final 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd was all that Collins needed as they picked up a big district win behind Will McDonald's complete game shutout. Will gave up just 2 hits and struck out 12.
