I agree that Spencer, Shelby, and Franklin do have good records against mostly bad teams, but who has John Hardin beat? (3-5) North Hardin, (2-6) Meade County, (2-5) Warren Central, and (2-5) Breckinridge County. I also agree that John Hardin has a great shot at winning the region (I personally think they beat Spencer), but acting like they are so much better than everyone else at this point is just silly. They very well could be, but there is nothing to prove that at this point. I think Spencer County is the only one that can beat John Hardin because of their offense, but their defense still needs some work if they want to win in the playoffs. However, I don't think it really matters who wins the region, they aren't beating South Warren. Quite frankly 4A just isn't that strong this year, so the top 10 isn't gonna be loaded with powerhouse teams. Collins isn't very good at all, but they still end up at 10 in the rankings.

I think Collins wins, but don't expect a shootout. Both teams seem to really struggle on offense. North Oldham desperately needs to win this one, or they will most likely miss the playoffs. Also, this is senior night for the Titans who will finish the season at Shelby County and at Anderson County.

It was 34-7 at the half though and Franklin was fighting from behind the whole game. Maybe that's why Badge said that.

I figured Franklin would bounce back this week and it sounds like they nearly pulled off the huge comeback. I wonder if Spencer County wore down in the 2nd half with playing so many kids both ways.

Final I didn't expect Collins to win, but it's embarrassing to see them not even compete.

Not a surprise to see Collins struggling to score. They just do not have much on that side of the ball.

They had a lot of yards, but Spencer County only had 13 points with 6 minutes to go. It took an epic collapse from Collins for the Bears to put up 35 points. So I think it is fair to say Collins was able to hold Spencer in check for the most part (obviously not the last 6 minutes though). However, they still have a very potent offense, no doubt.

Collins senior Kyle Goss has accepted a walk-on offer at UofL. Kyle, who plays on the offensive line for the Titans and was a back up OL on the 2013 State Championship team, will be a long snapper for the Cards. He will join former Titan Blanton Creque, a kicker who is redshirting this season.

I agree. Franklin County has the talent but I don't think they can execute well enough or keep penalties down enough to win. It's gonna take a nearly flawless game to knock of the Bears. If they do, things get really interesting in District 4.

Might as well, just throw the district in a giant mess full of ties. Both teams really need a win here. The loser is put in a really dangerous spot of missing the playoffs with two tough games ahead for both.

That's Collins' biggest struggle, is getting their offense going. Against a team with the size of Central Hardin I agree it's gonna be tough for them to score. They will have to rely on their defense once again to give them a shot. One thing is for sure, Coach Lucas isn't afraid of scheduling tough competition, even right in the middle of a really tough district.

I think Franklin will regroup. Will they win? Probably not, but I expect them to play a lot better. Collins has a tough one on the road at Central Hardin. As long as they don't get blown out a loss won't change too much on where I think they stand in 4A, although a win would be very nice.

Before tonight, the last time Franklin County was shutout was September 5, 2008 when they lost to Lafayette 7-0.

Does anyone know if North Oldham is ever gonna get that turf field? I remember them really pushing for it the past couple of years but I don't remember hearing whether or not it was actually happening.

Definitely, lots more great games to be played. Collins will take a "break" from district action and travel to Central Hardin next Friday. Meanwhile Franklin at Spencer and Shelby and North should both be great games.

Yes Collins defense played well but Franklin looked like an extremely undisciplined team. Personal fouls left and right. The Titans really needed this one and stepped up in a big way. If they were able to put it in the end zone they could've scored 40. Credit Franklin for forcing field goal attempts instead.

That would be a bit of a surprise, especially at home. Although, North has been less than impressive so far and did get a running clock put on them at Etown.

I think most Collins fans would agree that it was time for him to move on to greater and better things and are really glad for him and his new position. I don't mean to bash him, I just think Collins will benefit from having a new coach. I haven't seen their schedule but I assume it will be favorable for them to pick up a decent amount of wins again this year. Like you said it is all about improvement for Collins. I'm sure Spencer has some young talent, but that's a bit of a stretch to say the 2nd/3rd worst team in the region is going to beat Collins twice, let alone once. I know Collins still has a long way to go, but they aren't that bad. Spencer hasn't won a district game since 2010/2011 when Eminence left the district. Anderson and Shelby still rule the district but hopefully Collins (and Spencer) can improve enough to make it interesting.

Collins needs this win. Someone good is getting left out of the playoffs this year and I know it's still early, but a win here puts you in a lot better shape than 0-2 in the district. If Collins can't get it together on offense they have no chance of winning this one. 4-5 turnovers isn't going to win you many games, especially in this district. The Titans are in danger of dropping to 2-4 and 0-2 with Central Hardin up next. A win here is desperately needed. Franklin County has a good team and it's gonna be a tough one for the Titans to win. They will need to bring their A game, that's for sure.

I agree. Spencer should win but North definitely can beat them. Every single game in this district is huge, you gotta bring your best every week.
