Yes Collins defense played well but Franklin looked like an extremely undisciplined team. Personal fouls left and right. The Titans really needed this one and stepped up in a big way. If they were able to put it in the end zone they could've scored 40. Credit Franklin for forcing field goal attempts instead.

The question was not "If but "When" the penalties would hurt this team.

Shameful outing by the Flyers congrats to the Titans, FCHS did not deserve to win this one. Defense kept them in it for a while even with good field position for the Titans.

Definitely, lots more great games to be played.

 

Collins will take a "break" from district action and travel to Central Hardin next Friday. Meanwhile Franklin at Spencer and Shelby and North should both be great games.

Before tonight, the last time Franklin County was shutout was September 5, 2008 when they lost to Lafayette 7-0.

That has to be one of the most balanced districts in the state in any class.

 

Not necessarily the best overall teams, but not a lot of difference 1-5.

When you have a bad week of practice and have a bunch of upperclassman just not show up from the get go and then not respond to adversity, you get beat by a well coached good football team. The young guys are watching guys. Time to grow some and step up. Congrats to the Titans. Flyers step up or .....

That was just total domination by Collins. Collins had everyone back for a change and hopefully that made a difference. Main point of this game was the sidelines. It was obvious Collins was more prepared than FC. This district is still wide open.

As a Flyer fan I was disappointed in our sidelines. I think our defense played well, but the offense never changed from sweeps, or toss plays that gained nothing. I will say we played a prepared Collins team that executed. Congrats to Collins! Yes this district is still wide open and very competitive. I have said all year the lack of discipline and the 15 yard penalties the Flyers seem to get every game is catching up, and costing the team. Really need to work on play calling as well.

WOW, just did not see this one turning out this. No team is ever out of the game but for the Flyers to lay the goose egg is what is so surprising to me.

So you are saying you are disappointed in the coaching staff when you say side line?

 

District play is about match ups. Collins was a better match up for the Flyers.

Definitely what I meant about the sideline. Standing with their hands in their pockets, many of these penalties are lack of coach involvement. Another 11 for more than 120 yards. More than the fair share of the 15 yard variety. A direct indicator of a lack of discipline, that will be needed to make any kind of run in this district. I am taking nothing away from Collins, they executed well, and let the Flyers penalize themselves right into trouble. This has been an issue each week, way too many stupid penalties. Can't afford this performance next week.

It starts in the preseason. ..fights in 7 on 7..fights in jv..freshman games..mouthing. .it's all good when your winning..but this becomes a game plan for opponents. .hope it gets back on track..shame to get a reputation for this..play ball..
