4-7 was certainly a disappointment and things kind of spun out of control at the end of the year, but things are looking up for this season. The Titans have a lot of young talent returning including upcoming sophomore Nasean Roseberry. Nasean rushed for 161 yards and 4 touchdowns and caught 2 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown against Western in the playoffs. Linebacker Nick Eades, quarterback JR Lucas, and offensive lineman Seth Staples all saw a lot of playing time last year as freshman and should be big contributors this year. Speaking of offensive line, Collins returns seniors Kolton Alvey, Trei Axline, and Kyle Goss, who were all big parts of the state championship OL two years ago. With Leland Cardwell and Jalen Stone on the defensive side of the ball, Collins should be solid on the line on both sides of the ball. I think 6-4 is very reasonable with 7-3 possible as well.

North was finally able to break through last year after a few seasons of being right there with Collins. It seems like the Mustangs lost quite a bit from last year's team that was literally seconds away from the state championship (That was heartbreaking BTW). North Oldham has been solid year after year so I would think they have some talent coming back. Who should we expect to hear a lot about this season?

Spencer County has been competitive for the past couple of years and is definitely heading the right direction, but their district just got a whole lot tougher. Logan Holbrook is back for his senior year after rushing for over 1400 yards last year but quarterback play has been poor. Spencer County *should* beat Shelby County and make the playoffs, but they should've beaten them the past two times they played. They have a chance to make things really interesting in what should be a very competitive district.

I was about to mention Collins, although I figured they wouldn't be included due to only playing 5 seasons. However, only playing 5 seasons does make what they have done more impressive.

I think Collins will go 6-4 or 7-3 and win a few games in the playoffs.

Final McCracken County advances to the championship.

I wanted to mention how successful this senior class for Collins was during their 4 years as Titans. They had a record of 108-34 (22-11, 33-7, 28-4, 25-12) in 4 seasons and won two regional championships and defeated the 11th Region champion twice in the first round at state. They were pretty successful as building a tradition as a baseball power in the 8th Region to say the least. (They went 46-8 vs. regional competition as well.)

Final Leigh Ellen Thomas threw a 1-hitter with 7 K's. She also went 2-3 with an RBI. Mercy advances to play Johnson Central and Madisonville-North Hopkins is eliminated.

It should be a very competitive district. However, I think Shelby will struggle to make the playoffs most years. There just isn't much talent in that program. They have seemed to find a way to beat Spencer the past two years, but I think Spencer County has been the better team.

Really tough loss for Collins. They outhit Greenup by 5 and left so many runners on base. Once they loaded the bases with none out in the 7th I thought they would win it. McDonald smoked the ball and all the Collins fans thought it was through but somehow it ended up in the 2nd baseman's glove and the double play killed all of Collins' momentum. It was a heck of a game to watch.

McCracken County is not only #1 in Kentucky but also ranked #7 in the nation by MaxPreps. They are the heavy favorite to win it all. Madisonville-North Hopkins, Male, and Anderson County look to have the best chance to knock McCracken off, but I will be very surprised if they don't win it all.

Collins never trailed in this one but Madison Central rallied at the end and nearly won it. The Titans are 2-0 in first round games, having defeated Tates Creek in the first round in 2013.

Shelbi Poehlein, Hannah Renfro, and Carson Murray made the All-Tournament team from Collins.

Final Will McDonald pitched a complete game shutout and Collins is heading back to state for the second time in three years. Congrats to South on a great postseason run and good luck to the Titans at state!

Final Collins held a 1-0 lead for most of the game but a late rally by Anderson County has the #5 Lady Bearcats heading back to state. Congrats to the Lady Titans on an amazing season. They will miss their four seniors but have a very bright future with a lot of talent left. Good luck to Anderson at state!

Final South Oldham entered the postseason with a record of 13-17 and will now play Collins for the regional championship tomorrow night at 6:30 PM.

Final Collins pounded out 12 hits to improve to 23-11 and advance to the regional championship against South Oldham tomorrow night at the Shelby County Athletic Complex.

This was a great game with a crazy ending. Collins took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd and held that lead until the top of the 7th when North scored a run to tie it up. In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs and no one on Shelbi Poehlein laced a single into centerfield. She then stole second and the throw got past the 2nd baseman and into centerfield and Poehlein came around to score to win it 2-1. Both pitchers pitched a great game with Collins 8th grader Carson Murray coming out on top. Collins has set a new school record for wins in a season as they improve to 24-10. This will be their second regional final appearance in their 5 seasons as a school.
