LEXINGTON, Ky. – Collins High School baseball coach Roy Bailey calls Will McDonald his “big-game pitcher,” and on Monday the junior right-hander secured the biggest victory of the year for the Titans.

 

McDonald allowed one earned run and six hits and struck out five as Collins knocked off Madison Central 5-4 in the first round of the Rawlings/KHSAA State Tournament at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Collins never trailed in this one but Madison Central rallied at the end and nearly won it. The Titans are 2-0 in first round games, having defeated Tates Creek in the first round in 2013.
