ATLCat
Now that we have individually ranked the publics and the privates, let's now put it together to formulate our comprehensive list of the State's Top 15 Programs since 2000. Here are the links to the respective threads and the stats for comparison sake: http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-football-high/ranking-top-10-a-306066.html http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-football-high/ranking-top-10-a-306069.html 1. Trinity- 13 Regional Titles, 13 Finals, 11 Titles, and 2nd in wins make a pretty clear case for the Rocks. 2. Highlands- 12 Regional Titles, 11 Finals, 9 Titles, and the most wins. It is very clear there are two programs in a different hemisphere. 3. Mayfield- Very respectable showing puts Mayfield in the 3 spot and the "King of the Small Schools". The most regional Titles, 8 Finals, 5 Titles, and an impressive 176 wins. 4. Boyle County- 8/7/6 split and right behind Mayfield missing by only one win. 5. Central- Probably the most surprising of the Top 5. Despite always playing one of the State's toughest schedules the Jackets have a split of 8-6-5 and have done so despite having to face several members of the Top 25 in their path. 6. Belfry- 11/8/4 Split. Belfry doesn't have as many Finals appearances as NewCath but has more Regional Titles, Wins, and a better Winning Percentage. 7. NewCath- 10/10/4 is very strong. The argument could be made they are dead even with Belfry and maybe even Central (who they have considerably more wins than). The ultimate tie-breaker if need be is Belfry is 1-0 vs. NewCath and Central is 4-1 against Belfry. 8. Bowling Green- 7/6/3.. Purples wish they could re-do 2014 so they can stick their neck into arguing for a Top 5 spot. 9. Beechwood- 10/5/3.. are the Tigers on the verge of a major push up the ranks with Mayfield in 2A? 10. Danville- Ads snugly fit into the last Top 10 spot with their 7/5/3 split..but will the field lap them over the next decade?

ATLCat
Who surprises you with their ranking and resume? Is it surprising to see only one Private in the Top 5 and only two in the Top 10? What programs do you see making a major move up before 2020? What programs do you see falling?

ATLCat
How is John Hardin not on this list. Easy No State Title Only One Finals Their split would put them at 6 Regional Titles, 1 State Finals, 0 Titles. 134-44 record John Hardin is essentially Somerset and Corbin resume wise. If we carried this out to the Top 30 good chance John Hardin would be in the "Next 5 in"..but considering the only team in the Top 25 without a Title is OCath and they have 3 State Finals to JH's 1 State Final...pretty cut and dry how JH does not make the list. ATLCat
^^^ My Next 5 would be 26. Collins **Full disclosure I forgot them initially... if someone thinks they deserve a Top 25 spot I will not disagree** 27. Owensboro **Also forgot..could see them a spot or two higher** 28. Rockcastle Co 29. John Hardin 30. Somerset Edited June 24, 2015 by ATLCat

ATLCat
Another thing that stuck out to me in my research was Mercer County and Cov. Holy Cross. I found both odd to be such outliers. They are the "One Hit Wonders" of KY Football. Holy Cross literally has been the epitome of a mediocre program..and at times even a bad program. We had the bridesmaid thread last week and talked about Somerset and Glasgow. The 2011 season really has to stick out as painful in hindsight. Holy Cross beat both Somerset (Semis) and Glasgow (Finals). The one year a traditional powerhouse did not stand in their way was the year CHC caught lightning in a bottle. Mercer County was the beneficiary of a perfect storm scenario to win their title... but then karma came back around as they were sent to spend the rest of their time sharing a district with Boyle and LexCath. I assume then that this teams on this list are being compared to the teams in their class, eg Mayfield at #3 . No way they are the third best team in the entire state, but their accomplishments versus the teams in their class could make them the third most accomplished. Is that the way you're ranking them? That Holy cross team was loaded with a very talented senior class. The NewCath faithful still have a hard time with the Regional Final loss on a last second field goal, especially after beating the Indians with ease in the regular season. With that said Holy Cross was on a mission after beating the Breds and were not to going to be denied. Kyle Fuller put that team on his back an carried them to a State Title. The ultimate tie-breaker if need be is Belfry is 1-0 vs. NewCath and Central is 4-1 against Belfry. In the 2006 season opener at Belfry Belfry 7 NewCath 6 NewCath would go on to win the Class A State Title Belfry lost in the Class AA State Semi-Finals
