  1. I pretty much agree with everything that has been posted. I think the first 3 quarterfinal games all have the potential to be great. I would only add that Russellville may have the toughest player to match up with in Bradshaw. Earlier in the season UHA beat Russellville by 2 and lost to Mayfield by 3, so that agrees with the idea that this is a very balanced group of teams.
  2. That's not even close to accurate. They would be somewhere in the 3-5 range. There is no way there are 7 10th region teams that are better than them.
  3. 7 Boyd Co 5 West Carter 3 Rowan Co 2 Letcher Central 1 Johnson Central TB Rowan Co
  4. 7 Madison Southern 5 Dunbar 3 Lincoln Co 2 Whitley Co 1 Burgin TB Madison Southern
  5. 7 Rowan Co 5 Dixie Heights 3 Nicholas Co 2 Breathitt Co 1 Gallatin Co TB Nicholas Co
  6. 7 Western 5 John Hardin 3 Male 2 Bullitt East 1 Seneca TB Western
  7. 7 McCracken Co 5 Paducah Tilghman 3 Caldwell Co 2 Bardstown 1 Hopkinsville TB Hopkinsville
  8. 5 Hopkinsville 3 Pulaski Co 3 Dunbar 1 CAL 1 John Hardin 1 Bardstown (vs Apollo) 1 Anderson Co 1 Southwestern 1 Lincoln Co 1 Bullitt East (vs Bardstown) TB 146
  9. Paris is very good, and getting better, but don't sell Elliott Co that short. The Lions were going to have a ton of trouble trying to come back once they dug a big early hole, but I'm confident that they are a better team than they showed tonight. Both of these teams have a very good chance to make it to another State Tournament this season.
  10. Fun first half! Any idea if there are live stats available anywhere online?
  11. I like this brother of yours. Though actually I'll probably have to head out after 6. What's the parking situation for the event?
  12. 1 Mayfield 1 Russellville 1 Newport Central Catholic 1 UHA 1 Owensboro Catholic 1 Elliott Co 1 Walton-Verona 1 Lexington Catholic 2 Mayfield 2 UHA 2 Elliott Co 2 Lexington Christian 3 University Heights 3 Lexington Christian 5 Lexington Christian TB 139
  13. Game was similar to the win over Christian Co a week or so ago. Got behind big and looked pretty poor while doing so, but we're able to turn it on down the stretch and pull out the win. This is both impressive (beating a top 10 and top 20 team while playing subpar basketball for a lot of the game) and dangerous as in a one and done situation you leave yourselves vulnerable to a loss you shouldn't take.
  14. BG scored the first 9 points of the game, but FS took over and dominated the rest of the game up until about the last 5 minutes. FS led by as many as 15 and by 13 a couple minutes into the 4th before the Purples took over. Wilson hit a pair of FT with 20 seconds left, and after the Wildcats missed a front end on the bonus, Taylor hit 2 more FT for the final margin. FS got a shot at the buzzer, but it didn't fall. Lovan had 31.
  15. Big district win for the Indians without Canada, Jones, King and Wise. They were aided by Blackburn being out for the Colonels. The first quarter was a battle between Ralls and Wilson, and the first half was typically within a possession either way. Montgomery jumped out to a double digit lead early in the third and it stayed in the 7-10 point range pretty much from there on out. I haven't seen a ton of their games, but I thought this was definitely the most energy Montgomery has played with. Their current rotation features 5 Sophs, 2 Jr and 1 Sr, so I think they will keep getting better. If they can get their other starters healthy, they could be a threat by postseason time.
  16. 5 North Hardin 3 Ballard 3 Pendleton Co 1 Corbin 1 Central 1 Central Hardin 1 Muhelnberg Co 1 DeSales 1 Oldham Co 1 Apollo TB 121
  17. 7 Ballard 5 Taylor Co 3 Iroquois 2 North Hardin 1 Central TB Ballard
  18. 7 Bryan Station 5 Mercer Co 3 Corbin 2 Madison Central 1 Franklin Co TB Mercer Co
  19. 7 South Floyd 5 Prestonsburg 3 Buckhorn 2 Corbin 1 Knott Co Central TB South Floyd
  20. Hollingsworth never got it going. Dunbar lead most of the game, but couldn't close it out. The Bulldogs had the ball down 1 with under a minute to go, and what could have been an exciting finish turned into nothing. After holding the ball, Dunbar called a TO with 9.3 left. That was followed by 2 LexCath TOS. Hollingsworth tried to drive 1 on 3 and Dunbar had to call another TO with 4 sec left. That was followed by another LC TO. Hollingsworth was once again triple teamed and threw a pass far too late so Dunbar never got off a shot. In recap, the last 9.3 seconds featured 0 shots and 5 Time Outs. Johnson had a very nice game for the Knights.
  21. I don't like Doss's loss to Central, but their wins over Hopkinsville and Dunbar are stronger than Valley's best win @ Oldham Co, and the Central loss isn't as bad as the Anderson Co loss for Valley. Also, Doss won head to head @ Valley by double figures 2 weeks ago. With all that, I think its a tough sell to put Valley ahead of them.
