  6. Agree. Perry Central is really solid this year, and was very impressive against Lexington Catholic. I definitely expect them to make the Quarterfinals. Once they get there, I think they would be underdogs to Paris, Campbell Co, South Laurel. Maybe Corbin or Knox Central could be there opposite them.
  7. While I expect them to lose in the quarters, the 14th has a legit shot at making their first State Semifinal appearance in over 30 years.
  8. I don't know a whole lot about the 16th region. Porter was my first thought, but I wonder if he gets overshadowed some by Spencer?
  9. Agree. I'm sure you've seen them all a lot more than me, but in what little I've seen, I haven't been overly impressed with Sebree. However, with his hype I expect him to win the award.
  10. My guess at who wins POY. Not who I think should, but who I think will. A few regions (6,8,16, etc) I don't really know, but I went with my best guess. 1-Chris Vogt 2-Jaylen Sebree 3-Zach Hopewell 4-Tavin Lovan 5-Tony Jackson 6-Jaylon Hall 7-Jamil Wilson 8-Joe Griffin 9-Cole VonHandorf 10-Jake Ohmer 11-Taveion Hollingsworth 12-Peyton Gover 13-Peyton Broughton 14-Damon Tobler 15-Timmy Dalton 16-Hunter Kenser
  11. This was not a pretty game. Lofton's defense and energy was the key for Mason.
  12. I don't know about Mason Co, but Montgomery Co has yet to play a game with their top two players. Jones was out from pre-season through December, and Canada got hurt right before Christmas. They have also had others out from time to time this season.
  13. If Dunbar and LexCath each finish with 1 loss, is there a tiebreaker for the 1 seed, or is it a coin toss?
  14. I really enjoyed it. Went to 6 games on Thursday, and liked it enough to go back for more on Friday. I had gone when I was a kid, so it was fun to go back. I'll definitely plan to go back in the future.
  15. Right now I'd call it a toss up between those two. This is a much better Paris team than what they showed before Christmas.
  16. David slaying Goliath typically is a reference to someone (or something) small defeating something larger in size. You referenced the school's enrollment, so it seemed to me that is what you were referencing. I was just making a lighthearted comment that it wasn't a reference that fit with a small school tournament. The reference would be more fitting in a situation such as defeating Campbell Co in the region, which I think is strongly possible. I believe you were reading a lot into what I said that wasn't actually there. I in no way was "throwing shade on the lil guys." I have not spoken negatively toward Paris. In fact, I've been very high on them for the last 3 years.
  17. Ha, maybe not the correct analogy in reference to a tournament that is only for small schools. Save that one for when they beat Campbell Co in the region. I do completely agree with you about how they play, though. I'm not sure this Paris team is much (if any) more talented than they have been the last couple years, but seem to play with a different mentality. The more I see them, the more i appreciate them.
  18. I'm a big fan of Bradshaw. Hes very versatile, and I love watching him rebound.
  19. Agree. Paris never really got going on offense, but was good enough defensively to make up for it. They have really improved over the course of this season. Owensboro Catholic is a very solid team, but they didn't have anyone who could take over the game when they needed a bucket.
  20. I would love to go to one of these games sometime; it's just so far away. Is the atmosphere better at either school, or are they both pretty much the same?
  21. The 23 points may be the lowest output in an All A State tournament game. I think Whitefield Academy's 24 against Elliott Co was the previous mark (unless I missed one).
  22. And their inability to get off shots. Pineville just seemed completely overwhelmed from the get-go. Owensboro Catholic was very solid and efficient.
  23. The KHSAA scoreboard only has a place to keep points (and the various ways you get them) and rebounds. I'm guessing someone just looked through that list and took the scoring numbers listed there. If you'd like you could easily do the same with rebounds. It's a shame, but it is often very hard to find stats on steals, assists, blocks, etc.
