  1. Good Luck, not a fan of RCA and the way their players are treated.
  2. I'll be at several games this year and will be getting my season tickets next season.
  3. D3 is a tough way to go. Schools are expensive and without some substantial academic or government assistance most have to go in serious debt to attend. The demands and expectations of being on the team are very high also so little to no time for employment. I would steer my kid to NAIA or D2 if possible. That said, D3 is great for those who can do it and there are some very fine players at that level.
  4. Looks like he is doing pretty well; not quite back to where he was last season but may get there in Saturday's regional meet. I wonder which sport he would prefer to compete in college?
  5. I think he is top 10. I can't understand how there are so many glaring mistakes in this publication year in and year out and I'm not talking about the rankings and other things that are a matter of opinion. It takes little research to know when a top ten player has transferred.
  6. I wonder if the % given for NCAA to professional includes leagues in other countries of just the NBA. I like the message the chart is giving of stressing academics and being realistic, but I hate when it's used to squash a child's dreams. My son had a 6th grade teacher who told his entire class that no one in the room would ever be a professional athlete and I think that's just wrong. We tell kids that anyone can grow up to be POTUS, but what are the odds on that?
  7. Speaking of Dikembe, anyone know where he is playing or if he is playing?
  8. My son played a little AAU with him also. Seemed like a nice boy and very athletic. I hope he can find a good college where he can get an education and maybe find some stability.
  9. I feel bad for the kid. It's can't be his choice to move so often.
  10. I can't imagine that he's gonna want to sit a year, and as stated before most schools have been in session a couple of weeks or so. Maybe JUCO for a year?
  11. Saw the court in person recently. Looks very nice. Great facility.
  12. I heard rumors all spring/early summer that he was reclassifying. Don't blame him for following his dream but puts KWC in a tight spot.
  13. So it is not actually a prep school. The players attend a private school and play on a club team. Am I correct?
  14. Is this even school or do the players attend a public school in the area like they tried to do in KY?
  15. What does AAU have to do with this? Are kids going the prep school route for exposure, better coaching, tougher competition or some other reason?
  16. i like everyone else on this site, have no idea what he will do if hired but I hope he wouldn't drag his son to Minnesota for his senior year. I'd GUESS that the son and mom would stay in KY.
  17. Who will be playing at KBA this weekend?
  18. While I can see why you are frustrated with lack of options for your team, I kind of see their point. If they let your team in then they have to open it up to other girls teams and evidently they don't want a co-ed league. If a boys team beats a girls team they feel like, big deal we beat a girls team and if they get beaten by a girls team it's really humiliating, so it's lose-lose for the boys teams. Wonder what they would do if a "boys" team had a girl on it?
  19. The real question is, will any of them still be rocking those sweet mullets.
  20. I really don't like KHSAA trying to wield so much control on what MY child does on his own time. I really don't like the idea of saying after the first day of school because it penalizes student athletes who attend schools with earlier start dates. (Rural kids, mountain kids, kids who attend schools with "year round" schedules) My son couldn't attend a camp last year while other KY kids who hadn't started school yet and out of state kids had the opportunity. Felt like discrimination and I wondered if I had taken him out of school and home schooled him for a few days and then reenrolled him after the camp if I would have gotten away with it. This one really needs to go or at least have a uniform date. October 15 makes more sense. Might send my own strongly worded e-mail.
