Ben Weyer (NewCath) Jr. Season Highlights
He's done a nice job with the Travelers this summer. Rebounds and shoots well. I imagine he will be getting some more offers before long.

AAU Memorial Day Weekend Preview
What some may be forgetting is that sometimes the best 10 players do not gel together to make the best team. Hard to keep everyone happy in that situation and sometimes the chemistry just ain't there. You put the top ten players from any state together on a team and there might not be enough minutes or balls to go around. Teams need role players and that is sometimes an understandably hard adjustment for kids (and parents) to make.

Aric Holman
I believe so.

Wonder what prompted the departure from Hoop Dreams again.

Deion Cochran Signs With Asbury College
Great shooter. One of the top foul shot % in the state if I remember correctly. Congrats!

AAU State 5/8-5/10
Anyone see the Manimal vs Hoop Dreams Black game? Details? I was a little surprised by the score and heard Faulkner put on a clinic.

AAU State 5/8-5/10
I think there may be a few who would turn down any rental player even one as good as Q due to loyalty to their regular players, no matter how much they would like to have him. Sportsmaniac says he would turn him down and I believe him. My son has played in a couple of tourneys as a guest player when a team was missing a player or two and even though all the players and parents were great about it, I had to wonder if some of them may have resented him getting some of their kids playing time. I kinda felt awkward about it even though the coach had approached us about adding him.

Is Newport Central Catholic getting a 7 Footer from out of town?
Anyone know why OHSAA won't approve? Makes me wonder if KHSAA will have any objections. Also curious as to what country he is from.

Western has offered

AAU State 5/8-5/10
Number one surprise is that Hoop Dreams 17 is not playing in the state tournament. Even without the services of Holman and Miller they should be good enough to be competitive. Number 2 surprise is that Manimal wanted a guest player for the state tourney, unless maybe they have some regulars out for some reason. Sometimes AAU is like a box of chocolates. Ya never know what your gonna get.

Lexington EYBL Schedule
I've heard second hand that Nike already said it won't be back at kba but that is strictly a rumor.

Lexington EYBL Schedule
I said all along that I was concerned about the lack of space and a few told me I was wrong. I saw that grandmother and felt really bad for her. I wish they would have made announcements telling people that there were others waiting. I could have left earlier. I was told by the guy at the gate that I could buy a band for all day but not get back in if I left.

AAU Weekend Review 4/10-4/12
Carson went down in the first half of the 1st game. Hurt foot and busted eyelid. He didn't return the rest of the tournament due to the foot injury. Hoping he will be back healthy for Lexington.

The line between recruiting kids to AAU teams
In my opinion when dealing with a kid, parents should be the point of contact. Invite them to join your program, tell them why you think they should, be ready to give accurate details re costs, tourneys you plan to attend, and be honest. I don't see any reason that a program can't ask a player to join them and leave it at that. Also did I mention to contact parents first.
