  1. Like Woodsrider said, if Henderson doesn't turn the ball over, they have a chance in this game. Because they're a ball control offense, this should keep BGs offense off the field a little more than they're accustomed too and shorten the game some. Less possessions, less scores. I think BGreen ultimately wins the game because I think they have the superior skill players and have enough size in the trenches to offset Henderson's strength, but, it could very well be a little closer score than most on here are predicting. I'll say Hendo cuts down on the turnovers, but, still has one or two costly ones and BG takes full advantage and wins somewhere in the range of 42-21, with a late score to put it out of reach.
  2. I don't think Caldwell would be in there right now. I'd probably add Prestonsburg and take them out. I'd probably have Bardstown in the Top 10 and Hancock would be close behind them. Green Co would go back to the 11-15 group.
  3. Campbellsville, Eminence instead of Bellevue, Nicholas Co... None should be in Top 10..
  4. Based on actual results on the field, I think BWood should be down a little lower. There's no doubt that there name alone is giving them the benefit of the doubt at this time. IMO, if they have 6 starters out with injury, unless they are coming back this next week, they should be ranked by the current product they put on the field. If 1 or 2 comes back this week and then 1 or 2 the next, and then they start playing better, that is when they should move back up the ladder. I would probably have them around 7th right now. Williamsburg, Raceland and Fairview, along with Mayfield, Hazard and Frankfort ahead of them.
  5. If those 2 things happen, then, we'll talk.. I'm taking JHardin over Boyle in a big way and I'll take Male to handle Lex Catholic.. If it's any consolation, I think 6a, outside of Trinity is as weak as it's been in a longtime, too. I think 1a, 2a, 3a and 5a may be a little deeper than in past years, but, I think 4a and 6a are down some..
  6. IMO, this is as weak a pool of 4a teams as I've seen since the realignment. Lone Oaks an okay team, but, thats about it, and they're Top 6? Boyle is down this year and still ranked #4, Collins at #8 is a team that lost big to a down Boyle team. Lex Cath probably is a top 3 team, but, they got beat by 50 by a really good Ensworth team that called off the dogs or it could have been 70. Hate to think one of our top 3 4a teams can't play withing 50 of someone.. Cov Cath lays an egg to a middle of the road to lower middle of the road GCL team and they're #2.. I'm sorry, but, 4a is very weak this year.. I agree with above poster, it's Highlands to lose and if they don't, it'll be an epic upset..
  7. That's too high for Mayfield. They're maybe Top 15, at best, right now. If they win out against Murray, Graves and win another title, then, that maybe another story..
  8. I think Graves will bounce back this week. They usually play PT very tough and this year should be no exception. Until PT starts playing more disciplined football, they're gonna always underachieve.
  9. 5 - Henry Clay 3 - BGreen 3 - Trinity 1 - Somerset 1 - Fern Creek 1 - Cov Catholic 1 - S.Kenton 1 - Male 1 - Trigg Co 1 - Central TB - 47
  10. I agree. I guarantee you Rockcastle Co and Green Co, both, would be Top 10 teams in 1a, if they were in that class. They may not be as good as they've been in years past, but, still 2 very formidable opponents that are good, solid wins in anyone's book.
  11. Maybe it's just me, but, in these last 7 years during the Mayfield winning streak, I'd say maybe only a couple of those years did Mayfield have the more talented players. To that end, it just appears Morris and the rest of the Cardinal staff, just coaches circles around Wyatt and staff. They always seem to be more fundamentally sound in blocking, tackling, special teams, kicking, etc.. I think if you took the players and swapped uniforms, but, kept the staffs in place, you could very well be looking at a 7 game winning streak with the PT players.
  12. I think if you're going to do a tuition search, then while you're at it, do one for Highlands. With the exception of these 2 schools, the only other consistently successful NKy teams are private schools, NCC and Cov Cath, with Cov HCross coming on lately. So, it would be interesting to see how many of the players at those 2 schools are out of district kids.
  13. I think Somerset will take this one in a close hard fought game, with a little more scoring than in last years game.. I'll say somewhere in the neighborhood of 28-21..
  14. But, even so, Lasalle scored 27 pts and even with as much offense as CC put up, they still only managed 9 offensive points. If they played 10 times, I have a feeling that in at least some of those games, the Lasalle offense would fair better, there defense would likely still cause some turnovers and there athleticism would probably still get them some big plays from the special teams, so, 21-27 pts would still be fair average of pts for them. I think CC would likely not have as many turnovers and probably be able to score a few more points in some of those games, too, but, I'd still say if they played 10 times, Lasalle would win at least 7, with an average of vistory somewhere in the 24 17 range.
  15. I think BGreen has steadily improved it's program the last few years. Yes, they laid eggs in a few of the state title games a few years back, but, I think they're better now than they were then as they've stepped up there scheduling and seem to have righted the ship. In there defense, the years they lost those titles, they were beaten by some excellent teams, maybe some of those programs best ever teams, especially in the case of Lex Cath and Cov Cath.
  16. Turnovers are part of the game. If Lasalle had a pick for a score and recovered a fumble for a score, that should say as much for there defense as it does for CCs lack of execution. Same with special teams. Give credit where credit's due. If Lasalle is indeed that much more athletic, you'd have to think they'd likely cause some turnovers and have a few big special team plays in every game they played them. Also, how many games would CC get a safety against them. Sounds to me like Lasalle is the type of team that relies on it's superior athleticism and big plays to win ballgames, with a defense that could improve against the pass, but, tightens up when teams get on there end of the field.
  17. Final... Great win for the Cardinals as they takes a knee inside the PT 5 yd line to end the game...
  18. Mayfield intercepts a Tyler pass and takes it down to the PT 4 yd line.. They'll take a knee to end the game: Mayfield 42 Tilghman 21 Final
  19. Another 13 yd gain by Jackson gives them 1st and goal at the 2 yd line and 2 plays later he takes it in to end any threat the Tornado may have had, PAT is good, 42-21 Mayfield with under 1;36 left to play..That was a statement drive right there. Just line down and play power football..
  20. The Cardinals are giving the Blue Tornado a big dose of Jonathan Jackson on this drive and have the ball, 1st and 10, inside the PT 15 yd line.
  21. The Cards sack Tyler on 4th down and they'll take over at the PT 47 yd line with just over 4:00 to go in game.
  22. Another incomplete pass forces a 4th and 10, PT goes for it and Mayfield calls timeout..
