  1. Mayfield will keep the Tornado off balance enough with the passing game to offset Tilghmans superior size and speed and come out of this one with a close win..
  2. I doubt seriously that Beechwood will send someone to a Mayfield game every week.. This happened to be a week that they played on a friday and Mayfield played on a saturday. And, being that it was a van, it was likely the whole coaching staff. Not saying that someone won't come again, but, most likely not till the playoffs..
  3. Oh, yeah, I realize that and that's definately subject to change, but, I think it would be great if that indeed happened.. Can you imagine how much the rivalries would intensify between NCC/BWood, CHCross/BWood, Murray/Mayfield, OBCath/Mayfield, Danville/Mayfield, etc.. Would be nice to see and 2a would be a bear of a class.. It's already pretty good, and, all of a sudden, you add 2 teams that would be perenial Top 10 teams to it and that would make for some good football..
  4. In looking at the current enrollment reports for 2011, both Mayfield and Beechwood would move to 2a in the next reallignment and Ft Knox and Crittenden Co would move back to 1a.. There'd be alot of happy campers in 1a, if that holds up and 2a would have just gotten alot more competitive..
  5. I agree about Reed. I know he's the backup QB, but, he's also a good athlete and brings another weapon to the table at WR. I also think Deion Jackson is coming into his own as a WR. That's 2 really good weapons to add to the mix to free up Brown, Jackson and Mills a little. Deion sounded pretty good at CB, as well, which is an area they definately need help in.
  6. 5 - Butler 3 - Rowan Co 3 - Boyle Co 1 - Mayfield 1 - Lone Oak 1 - St X 1 - Owensboro 1 - Fern Creek 1 - Belfry 1 - Montgomery Co TB - 70
  7. Not sure what Bellevue, Dayton or Ludlow have, but, it's probably a safe bet they make it out of district, but, Frankfort may have something to say about making the semifinals. They seem to have a little stronger team than what they've had in the past few years and BWood lost alot off of last years team, so, I wouldn't count my chickens just yet..
  8. Parents have every right to send there kids wherever they choose to send them, regardless of where they live, as long as they're willing to pay the amount of tuition it takes to put them there and as much as some people don't like it, kids want to play for teams that have a chance to play for a state championship and Beechwood is one of those teams. Now, if the Beechwood coaching staff is openly soliciting these kids to transfer or giving these kids extra benefits or a reduced tuition rate, then, yeah, that's an issue..
  9. Ensworth is Tennessees best football team, regardless of classification.. They're the favorite to win the DII private division which has several powerhouse programs including MBA, Brentwood Academy, MUS, Baylor, etc.. No disgrace losing to this team and the score shouldn't be that big a surprise.. They're all that and a bag of chips.. Would love to see them and Trinity hook up.. Would be a heck of a game..
  10. The Cards JV unit put together a 5 minute, 50+ yd drive but a Maroon lineman stripped the ball from the RB and took it back 60 yds for the score...PAT good, 56-21... On the ensuing possession, Dion Jackson takes a long run in for another Cardinal touchdown by the JV team...PAT good... 63-21... That should do it as there's just over a minute to go in the game...
  11. Mills scores on a 3 yd run...Guhy adds about 70 more yds thru the air on that drive.. 56-14 with about 1:00 to go in 3rd qtr.. Should see alot of JV from here on out...
  12. Madisonville got the ball to start the 2nd half and after picking up a 1st down, the Maroons fumble the ball and Mayfield recovers it and on the 1st play from scrimmage, Dion Jackson takes the ball on a sweep for 40 yds and another TD...PAT good again... 49-14 Cardinals...

  14. Another 5 play 51 yd drive by the Cards ended with a 16 yd TD pass from Guhy to Brown...PAT is good, 2:30 to go in 2nd qtr, Mayfield extends lead to 42 to 14...Mayfields offense is clicking on all cylinders tonight..

Jonathan Jackson picks up 10 on the next play down to the 16 yd line. Jackson picks up 15 on the next play down to the 1 yard line and 2 plays later, Jackson takes it in to answer the Maroon score... The Cards go for 2 and make it on a pass from Guhy to Dillon Reed.. 35 14 Cards lead, still over 6:00 to go in the 2nd qtr..
  17. After a nice return by the Maroons, they have a 66 yd TD run on there 1st play from scrimmage to stay in the game...PAT good... 27-14 now with 8:00 to go in 2nd qtr..
  18. Mayfield starts next drive at there own 37 yard line and put together a 4 play 63 yd drive for another score as Guhy hits Jordan Brown for a 50 yd TD pass, PAT is blocked... Mayfield 27 Madisonville 7..
