  1. I think the Big 4 is closer to the Big 3 this year. Boyle is clearly down, Highlands is still the best team, by far, but, I think they're worse than they were last year. The verdicts still out, imo, on Cov Catholic. In saying that, I mean it's yet to be seen if they're as good as last year. Lex Cath is better than last year, I agree. Russell is pretty good, but, they were last year, as well. ACS, FSimpson, Rockcastle, JCentral are all down compared to last year. Lone Oak and Knox Central are maybe a little stronger, but, it's close.
  2. With 2:49 left in the 3rd qtr with Mayfield driving the ball just inside Tiger territory, the games been stopped for a lightning delay. Will be at least 30 minutes before they resume, if they get to at all.
  3. The Tigers move the ball all the way to the Cardinal 24 yd line, but, gets stopped on downs and come away with no points on the drive, but, they did eat close to 7 minutes off the clock. IMO, they really needed to come away with some sort of points on that opening drive to have any shot to get back in the game.
  4. Murray starts 2nd half at there own 20 yd line and are driving the ball and have it at the Cardinal 25 yd line.
  5. 1st half stats: 1st downs ..... Mayfield 8 ..... Murray 6 Rushing ..... Mayfield 140 yds ..... Murray 93 yds Passing ..... Mayfield 95 yds ..... Murray 31 yds Total ..... Mayfield 235 yds ..... Murray 124 yds Penalties ..... Mayfield 0 x 0 yds ..... Murray 3 x 15 yds Fumbles ..... Mayfield 1-lost 1 ..... Murray 2-lost 2 Leading rushers - Mayfield - Jonathan Jackson - 13 carries x 129 yds & 4 TDs Murray - Donte Howard - 9 carries x 32 yds Passing - Mayfield - Guhy - 7 for 11 - 95 yds Murray - Boone - 2 for 4 - 31 yds
  6. End of 1st half 28-7 Cardinals lead, as they take a knee to end the half. Murray gets a little momentum going into the lockerroom and will get the ball 1st in the 2nd half, but, other than that last drive, it's been all Mayfield, thus far.
  7. Murray takes the ball over at there own 24 yd line and drives it 76 yds for a score, capped by a 6 yd pass from Boone to Dillon Upchurch for the score, PAT is good.. Score now is 28-7 Mayfield.. .30 secs to go in the half.
  8. Murray gets the ball on there own 25 yd line, Donte Howard picks up 10 yds for a 1st down, but, on the 2nd play, Murray fumbles again and the Cards take over at the Tiger 34 yd line. After an incomplete pass and a short run, Jonathan Jackson takes another TD in from 30 yds... PAT is good... 28-0 Mayfield with just over 7:00 to go in the 2nd qtr.. Jackson has his 4th TD of the night and should be up close to 140-150 yds...Oh, by the way, he was the one who put the hit on the Tiger RB that caused the fumble. He's having a huge night, thus far.
  9. On Murrays next possession, they pick up a 1st down and seemed to be moving it, but, the Tiger QB, Boone, was hit from behind and fumbles and the Cardinals recover at the Tiger 30 yd line. Guhy hits Jordan Brown for 27 yds on 1st down and then Jonathan Jackson takes it on the 2nd play from 3 yds out. PAT is good, 21-0 Mayfield with 9:23 to go in the 2nd qtr.
  10. Word just in, the game has been postponed until 6:45 CST tomorrow night because of lightning.
  11. Jackson has 101 yds on 11 carries thus far on the night.
  12. After a 5 yd pass completion, Jonathan Jackson takes it in for a 9 yd TD run, his 2nd TD of the night, PAT is good, Mayfield now up 14-0..
  13. End of 1st quarter, Mayfield 7 Murray 0... Mayfield is driving and has the ball at the Tiger 14 yd line, 1st x 10, to start the 2nd qtr...
  14. Murray starts 2nd drive at there 20 yd line. They manage to pickup 1 1st down, but, are forced to punt again and the Cards get it back at there own 36 yd line.
  15. After an incomplete pass, then a pick up of 9 by Jackson, again, Jackson gets it on 3rd and 1 and takes it all the way in for a 49 yd TD run, pat is good.. With 6:34 to go in the 1st qtr, Mayfield leads 7-0..
  16. On Murrays 1st drive after the Cardinal fumble, Murray picks up 5 on 1st down, picks up 3 on 2nd, then loses 1 on 3rd down and are forced to punt. Mayfield gets the ball for the 2nd time at there own 42 yd line.
  17. Mayfield starts 1st drive at there own 32 yd line, drive it down to the 14 yd line, but, fumbles and Murray recovers.
  18. Graves Co 7 Tilghman 0, game in a temporary lightning delay..
  19. Mayfield will get the ball 1st to start the game. Word is the weather conditions aren't good. Announcers hoping we're able to get it in.
  20. I think Frankfort plays a competitive game with FC, but, in the end, FC will make a few more plays. Franklin Co 48 Frankfort 28.
  21. I picked Hazard cause they can be pretty darn good in revenge games..
  22. I think JH handles them by 2+ scores.. Not sure where this games being played... If it's at Boyle, I'll say 42-24 JH, if it's at JH, I think the score may be more like 49-21..
  23. I tend to agree that Fairview should be ahead of Raceland. They've pretty much had there way with them the last 2 years, beating them by an average score of 38 to 14. I like the fact that Raceland challenges themselves by playing some better competition, but, really, getting beat as bad as they did doesn't make me choose them over a team that's had there number the last 2 years, playing this same type schedule.. Fairview was 11-2 in 2010 and 12-1 in 2011 and that's better than Racelands last 2 yrs, plus the head to head. Now, it's very possible, Raceland is stronger than they've been the last few years and quite possibly, Fairview is down a little from past years, but, when you look at the past 2 years schedules for both teams and things are pretty much on par to what they have been and even if Raceland is better and Fairview down a little, have they narrowed the gap by 3+ scores a game. I'd just tend to give Fairview the benefit of the doubt, at this point.
