  1. The Cardinals start there next series at there own 34 yd line.
  2. 35 points scores already and we're still in the 1st qtr. What started out as a football game has turned into a track meet.
  3. After a couple of nice runs by Katzman, getting the ball out to the 43 yd line, 2 plays later, Katzman finds a huge hole and takes it in from 57 yds out. The PAT is good, so, the Eagles cut the Cards lead to 7 at 21-14.
  4. After a 17 yd pass completion on 1st down, once again, Jackson takes it in from 3 yds out on the 2nd play from scrimmage, pat is good, so, with 2:52 remaining in the 1st qtr, Mayfield extends there lead to 21-7. That's Jacksons 3rd TD of the night.
  5. After a 3 yd pickup, Mayfield's Trent Kendall intercepts a Puckett pass and the Cards have it again at the Eagle 20 yd line.
  6. The Eagles start there next drive at there own 20 yd line.
  7. 6 plays later, Jonathan Jackson takes it in from 2 yds out. The Cards go for a 2 pt conversion and makes it, so, the Cards retake the lead 14-7.
  8. The Cardinals start there 2nd drive at there own 39 yd line.
  9. On the ensuing kickoff, the Eagles Joey Marshall runs it back for a touchdown. PAT is good. With 6:07 left in the 1st qtr, Graves Co leads 7-6.
  10. Jonathan Jackson takes it in from 1 yd out with 6:23 to go in the 1st qtr, capping a 54 yd drive, the PAT was no good... Mayfield leads 6-0
  11. Graves gets the ball 1st and can't do anything with it. Mayfield starts there 1st series at about there own 46 yd line.
  12. 7 - Ohio Co 5 - F.Simpson 3 - Glasgow 2 - Calloway Co 1 - Hart Co TB - Calloway Co
  13. Why would either want to suspend it. With exception of 2006 and 2009, every game has been close. It's not like CC has been beating them 40-0 every year. Surprisingly, it looks to me like they're pretty evenly matched in most years. A large private 4a school should beat a public 1a school every year and it really shouldn't even be close, but, I'm sure Beechwood understands that and they use that game to find out what there weaknesses are. You can't find those things out by playing cupcakes. If anything, CCath may want to get out of the series, because if they win, it's expected, but, if they lose, it should be embarrassing to them. On the other hand, Beechwood has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  14. Nope, they weren't. Well, yes, they were, but, not for a competitive reason. It had everything to do with geography and not leaving a district with less than 4 teams. If CCath has to move to 5a because of enrollment, that leaves the current district with 4 teams, including Highlands. So, although from a geographic standpoint, it would make sense, the KHSAA isn't going to leave any district with 3 teams. If Highlands is allowed to move up, it'll be because another team from the same geographic area happens to fall down a class or has to move up a class due to enrollment.
  15. Honestly, I think Highlands would go 2-2, losing to BGreen and ST X and beating JHardin and WCentral.. I think CCath would go 3-4, beating PRP, Scott Co and Franklin Co and losing to Central, JHardin, BGreen and WCentral.. Initial topic, I'd rank Highlands 3rd in 6a, 2nd in 5a and 1st in 3a.. I'd rank Cov Cath 3rd in 6a, 4th in 5a and 2nd in 3a..
  16. SK may not shut them out, but, I don't expect too many points put up by NCC.. I'm going to say SK 35 NCC 10
  17. This one actually looks pretty accurate to me. That's unusual for the AP, imo..
  18. During the last realignment, teams weren't allowed to play up. If that's the case again, Highlands would also be placed in an expanded district.
  19. I added 3a in there, because I wanted to see how people would rank these 2 in comparison to Central. Looks like everyone feels Highlands would be ahead, a little more questionable between CC and Central. Most feel Highlands would be #1 or #2 in 5a, either just ahead or about equal with BGreen. That's a pretty tough call, either way and I can see reasons for either. It's interesting some think CCath would be #2 right behind BGreen in 5a, then others say as low as #4 and I'm assuming that's being put behind John Hardin and WCentral, maybe Franklin Co.? In 6a, I was curious if people felt Highlands would be ahead of St X. I already knew they wouldn't place them above Trinity. CCath would be #3 at best, according to all people who picked, but, would they go ahead of Scott Co and some of the other Louisville schools? With these things in mind, let's just ask the obvious questions: Who wins these games? Assume on a neutral field.. Central vs Cov Cath J.Hardin vs Cov Cath BGreen vs Cov Cath WCentral vs Cov Cath Scott Co vs Cov Cath Franklin Co vs Cov Cath PRP vs Cov Cath BGreen vs Highlands JHardin vs Highlands WCentral vs Highlands St X vs Highlands This should be fun...
  20. Where would Highlands be ranked in 6a, 5a, 3a? Where would Cov Cath be ranked in 6a, 5a, 3a?
  21. Funny how everyone clamored to it's validity when Trinity was ranked #1 in the nation on Maxpreps, last year. Seems like when someone's team isn't ranked too good with a certain poll, people call it out as BS, but, when it favors them, they talk about how accurate it is. It's kinda like recruiting. A kid is unranked on Scout, a 2 star on ESPN, a 3 star on rivals and a 4 star on 247. The fans of the team that signs him, all you hear, is we got this 4 star kid out of so and so. You could flip any of these rating services and all you'll hear is the highest rated one.
  22. Is SK deserving of a Top 10 rating? I really don't know, but, here's my thing with them. Everyone talks about how weak there schedule is, how it's a JV schedule, how embarrassing it is to play all these smaller schools, etc, etc.. Honestly, I call crap on that one.. I'm gonna use a comparison: Let's use WCentral as a comparable school. WCentral has played 1a-Mayfield, 3a-Ft Campbell, 4a-FSimpson and 6a-Meade Co... SKenton has played 1a-Beechwood, 2a-Danville, 4a-Holmes and 5a-Pulaski Co... Do you honestly see much difference in the toughness of schedules. Matter of fact, if I had to pick a winner, I'd pick Danville over Ft C, Holmes over FS and Pulaski over Meade. I would pick Mfd over Bwood, but, still that's 3 out of 4 similar opponents that I'd give the teams SK played as a favorite over the ones WCentrals played. I never hear anyone calling WCs schedule a JV schedule or that they should be embarrassed by it and it certainly hasn't kept them from being one of the Top ranked 5a teams out there. Plus, when you're a 6a team, chances are the majority of the non-district games are going to be against smaller class schools. Look at any of them. You'll see the same thing. If SK smaller school opponents were cupcake smaller opponents, I'd tend to agree with what some are saying, but, since when was Beechwood, NCC and Danville considered a cupcake, regardless of class. Those teams have been knocking out bigger opponents and winning championships for years. Maybe Bwood and NCC are down in comparison to past teams, but, do you think SK had a magic wand and knew this was going to be the case before the schedule was made? It's obvious to me that some on here have an agenda with SK or UK#1fan or something. Granted, he's over the top with his confidence, but, thus far, his teams backed it up. Only time will tell if that continues. SK is in a tough situation, having to play in the same class as Trinity, so, chances are, there won't be many, if any, state championships coming thru the door for them or any other 6a team, but, you could throw Highlands, CCath, BGreen and every other state school if they had to play in Trinitys class. Like I said, don't know if SK is a Top 10 team or not, but, I'd think they have just as much claim as Henderson Co, BStation and a couple of the other Louisville schools. Have these teams done anymore than SK has?
  23. I agree Jackson is a difference maker on both sides of the ball, but, imo, WCentral would have beaten them with a healthy Jackson. There depth and size started taking a toll in the 2nd half, before JJ started cramping up. I also think Hazard beats us last year with a healthy Jackson. Fact of the matter was, the Bwood/Mfd game was a very physical game and Scott was also banged up & there starting DT/C was out altogether and a couple of others played like they were just spent. I credit BWood for that loss about as much as I do Hazard. That's not to take away from anything Hazard did, because, they came out with more emotion, more desire, beat our tails in the trenches and basically just took it to us and won the game. No argument from me, but, that brutal semifinal had a whole lot to do with how Mayfield played, that's for sure. In regard to your above post, I tend to agree with Toothpick. As players return, let's see how they're playing in a couple of games and go from there. By the time playoffs come around, it's alot easier to see who's gonna be in the hunt and who's not.
