  1. The Northern Kentucky Bandits Fastpitch Organization is pleased to announce that Next Level Training Facility will be the new "Home of the NKY Bandits". The NKY Bandits have agreed to enter into a strategic partnership with Next Level that will afford the NKY Bandit coaches and players year-round access to some great resources and facilities. We are confident this partnership will help us reach our goal to be the Premier Fastpitch Softball Organization in NKY.
  2. AMEN!!! I tell my girls that soccer is the Communist sport and Volleyball is a socialist sport. There is no respect for school teams sports by the clubs....yes, when can discuss scholarships, exposure, etc... You either sign up to play for your school or not.
  3. W.-VERONA 100-000-0—1 5 2 at S.KENTON 000-111-X—3 1 1 WP: Lang (4-0, 11 K’s). LP: Thacker (9 K’s). HITTING LEADERS: SK—Baugh HR. WV—Wassom 2-3. RECORDS: Simon Kenton 5-0, Walton-Verona 2-3. Read more: 3/28 SOFT: S. Kenton gets 1-hit, wins I think Erica is going to have a huge year at the plate and in the circle. She's off to a great start.
  4. That's good news for NKY Birds. It hasn't been run well since the Conrads.
  5. Robbie has plenty of temporary fences there. We had 41 teams in our tournament at Softball City alone last year in one weekend and we were able to park cars and provide plenty of warm up space for the teams. Don't know the new management down at Rivershore but have never had a good experience there since around 2000 timeframe, definitely nothing with Patti running it.
  6. Every gym should still ALWAYS have a landline available for use in case of emergency no matter how many cell phones are available.
  7. Ready to win now, Nice Facilities, Good Administration...what's not to like?
  8. Awesome...I tell my daughters that Soccer is a Communist Sport (they give Red Cards) and Volleyball is a Socialist Sport (Yellow Cards). I am not having my daughters decide until they need to plus I refuse to pay that kind of money when most of the coaches the club sports have are not as qualified as most of the coaches my daughters can/have play(ed) for in the Catholic School System. Throw in the fact that their is physical and mental burnout and the real chance of repetitive motion injuries that can lead to the major damage like ACL, knees, ankles, stress fractures, growth plates... There is just no advantage to have 5th, 6th and 7th grade girls play one sport year round. Throwing all your eggs in one basket can kill your chances in high school once you get cut.
  9. Guess not, but sounds like Rob is keeping Milt around which is good for them. I'm rooting for Quillen to have a big year.
  10. LJM4th is right. It starts with a plan and it takes a village...the administration, coaches, parents and players all have to be on the same page to make it happen. It is possible but the parents have to do the most of the work.
  11. Two great guys deserving of the honor for all the work they did.
  12. Having Haylee fall in your lap for basketball and softball is like waking up to Manna in the desert. Good for both her and NDA - I hope it works out for all involved.
  13. Jessica's dad at Highlands from what I have heard.
  14. There are many coaches prior to the 1980s that I'm sure deserve a ton of credit for shaping NKY Baseball - Coach Connor, Mote Hils, "Hep" Cronin, the 1963 Holmes baseball team, and many before my time. And with all due respect to Coach Maxwell, Coach Myerhoff, Coach JT Mulligan, etc.. all who have been influential and successful, I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who has left more of an impression than Coach Krumps, on and off the field. There is a laundry list of former CCH players who went on to coach high school and/or currently coach in the summer and continued some sort of footprint they learned from Krumps, whether that be pitching, small ball, discipline, hustle, teamwork, or how to run a respected, top rate program. Love him or hate him or CCH, it's hard not to admire the consistency and dedication. Thanks Coach K for making a difference and teaching us how to win, but more importantly, how to do it the right way!!!
  15. I was head coach of Villa Boys Baseball from 1995-2006 and then ended up coaching NDA from 2009-2011.
  16. SSC - Thanks for your prayers. We can always use as many as we can get. The important thing is she is cancer free 18 months out. The obvious point of the post was it took my time, focus and energy away from coaching softball. BC is a close friend and ex-player - old news and time to move on for all of us. Night Court or Kangaroo Court, I don't need to justify myself and you don't need to defend yourself. We can agree to disagree that all the details will never, and don't need to be made public. And I'm sorry if those 10 parents feel that way. It was never about being right or wrong, it was about the kids. Finally, I apologize for the last part, uncalled for and unacceptable on my part. I know you and vice versa. I think your daughter is the best all round player hitter in the region and voted accordingly the last few years. But, you won't find me at the NDA games...I follow them and wish them the best, but like I said, I'm in the stands now watching my daughter enjoy herself playing for Villa. She has decided to attend there next year as a freshman. This should hopefully end it and good luck the rest of the high school and summer into college season.
  17. Keep it Real - see BGP Post below http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-baseball-high/villa-8-ludlow-96468.html Big Zig and I (BabyD) are both in the same post when I coached Villa and they won the 34th District Baseball tournament. BabyD was inactive so I used BabyD22 - don't know what to tell you other than let it drop and who cares anymore.
  18. SSC - I think you need to get your facts straight. 1. Blue Colonel did not coach NDA last year, I did...I've always gone by BabyD22 which was my nickname at Thomas More and free to me as a high school coach, but I had to do a little different naming convention since I no longer coach and now have to pay to be part of BGP. And as you can see, I don't post a lot, just view more than anything. 2. Maybe I was a good coach to some, a bad coach to others, but I can state one thing I firmly believe - We left the NDA program in better shape 3 years later than we found it. 3. Joe Stephenson is a great guy and good coach. He coached the summer programs for me, including my daughter, the last two years and was a great selection. I'm sure it also helps that the rest of a very talented coaching staff stayed in tact and the players all returned a year better, stronger and more mature. I wish them all well in the future. 4. If you know so much, please let me know since you seem to have all the answers, you must have been in the meeting with Ms. Gunning. Better yet, why don't you call Kim yourself before you go opening your mouth on a subject you don't have first hand knowledge about, including my wife's cancer recovery the last two years, etc. 5. Looking for a good pitching coach in NKY - Chip Gregg is a good choice, I think Chris Minor is great with the amount of work and improvement Bridget Stewart has put into it the last few years, but my money goes with Jessica Birkenhauer Rawe - my friend and pitching coach while at NDA. She was able to teach me quite a few things over the years and filled a huge void in one area of softball that I did not have experience in. 6. Finally, I don't fault anybody at NDA. Quite frankly, Kim may have done me a favor by putting things and life back into perspective. Life in the stands watching my 3 daughters isn't so bad. I don't have a problem getting along with most reasonable, decent people, and I think that includes the NDA parents. It's just the aholes like you I don't get along with...if you want to say something, then say it directly to me. I'm easily found in the book. David
  19. Yes, definitely, from a non-NDA parent.
