I read the game thread a few times and have obviously been on BGP for a few posts. I've never once felt any CCH fan was ignorant enough to say anything to support TT's cause.

Also from the same thread it was stated that the TOG was going to be addressed by people at Cov Cath about his posts concerning Cov Cath sports. I'm hearing from PM's that this did not happen which I certainly hope to by the case. TOG is clearly one of Cov Cath's biggest supporters of all sports and academics at Cov Cath and he did not deserve to have someone post that his posting on BGP about Cov Cath sports was being looked into and being addressed. I hope the poster that stated this reached out to TOG and apologized for posting that. I know if I was TOG and invested as much time and energy as he does to Cov Cath sports and academics, I would be very angry and bummed that someone would have a problem with his posts on BGP. It would be especially disheartening to have had that posted by another Cov Cath guy. Just my two cents.

All I'm saying is that there are other teams up here (Holy Cross, Ryle,Dixie, Connor, Boone County , NCC and very soon Cooper) that don't get the recoginition that they should get and that includes many players now and from the past from every school up here besides Cov Cath. And yes including the team I root for! It seems as if the coaches in other cities like Lexington and Lousiville only know of CCH, especially in baseball because of the outstanding baseball mecca Krumps has built and there is nothing wrong with that what so ever and CCH fans should be very proud of what they have done over the years. However, that being said, CCH, my team or any other team cannot live on their laurels of the past successes without striving to do better themselves and realize there is great talent in other schools around here. Frankly, sometimes I don't feel that SOME CCH fans think as if there are any other very good teams around here because of all of their successes. That is all. Thanks and I am not by any means upset or mad. Besides, being a number one team for any team CCH included, can carry the extra pressure of a "bulls eye" on their back .

So what you're saying is you can't back up your claim that SOME CCH fans do not give love to other programs.

And with all due respect to Coach Maxwell, Coach Myerhoff, Coach JT Mulligan, etc.. all who have been influential and successful, I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who has left more of an impression than Coach Krumps, on and off the field. There is a laundry list of former CCH players who went on to coach high school and/or currently coach in the summer and continued some sort of footprint they learned from Krumps, whether that be pitching, small ball, discipline, hustle, teamwork, or how to run a respected, top rate program. Love him or hate him or CCH, it's hard not to admire the consistency and dedication. Thanks Coach K for making a difference and teaching us how to win, but more importantly, how to do it the right way!!!

Tom doesn't dispute the success CCH has had. He is saying the CCH fans (my bad, some) do not recognize that other programs have talent. I'm just asking who these "some" are.

I'm partly having fun with Tom and partly picking on Tom for a statement that is simply not true. If Tom wants to say that some think CCH is still the best despite their lack of regional success that's cool and probably has some validity.

Clyde if you think you guys are feeling bad tonight what about Lexington Catholic after getting knocked out by Bryan Station?

WOW, 33-6 isn't good enough and while yes CovCath didn't win the Region, CovCath still was 33-6 and that was this year!

 

As I told another member in a PM, how do the Coaches in other parts of the Commonwealth know about your team, if your team doesn't post their stats in forms like BGP's?

 

The papers don't cover HS sports like they used to, so how is a coach from Eastern/Western Ky to know who you are?

 

Have you reached out to columnist like Mike Fields of the LH to get some coverage for your NKy team?

 

Has your team updated their stats game by game on sites like the Cincinnati Enquirer?

 

When you travel or play even local games, do you have a roster to give to the local press? Do you give them an up to date Schedule showing your wins and who they came against? Do you supply them with stats about your team showing them what your players have done? Have you sent these stats to the press in Louisville or Lexington?

 

There are plenty of quality teams in NKy but have they gotten the word out around the Commonwealth about themselves?

 

If your team doesn't do any of the above, then your team has only themselves to blame for not getting recognized state wide!

Listen I love HS sports and especially baseball. When some of the HHS fans were carrying on about JB and his coaching, I told them to be patient as he was a great coach and today? Well he is one game from the finals!

 

Max at Dixie is a great guy and has a great staff and he teaches his kids to play the game correctly.

Jeff at NCC, loves the game and I have enjoyed sitting with him at some games and talking baseball, another great teacher of the game.

One of HC coaches is a classmate of mine from CovCath and we played baseball together at CovCath and it always a pleasure to see him at games and talk about the old day's, he too as well as the entire coaching staff at HC do a great job.

Heck Coach Sanders while we don't play his team, I see at summer ball all the time and their is no better coach around than him.

The Coaches from Ryle, Cooper and Conner all are CovCath grads and good guys to boot who enjoy teaching the game to the kids the way they were taught and I consider them CovCath Colonels as they all have that Spirit that will not Die.

I would say TT's statement is fine if you removed the "Cov Cath fans" comment and replaced it with something like "fans around the state" or "coaches around the state." Not sure I perceive any arrogance out of CCH fans. They have a great program and great teams year in and year out and they know it and are proud of it. Nothing wrong with that.

Can I go on record saying that I think there are other good teams in the 9th region and on any given day CovCath can be beaten by them?
