Agreed with your last sentence, but it's just a game. I am the most competitive person on BGP, only 24 years old, and have quickly figured out how miniscule getting worked up about games really is. I admire the passion you have for your son and for taking up for him, but let his coach do that. If you don't have enough trust in your sons coach to get on the umpire about a misinterpretation of a rule, then do you trust him to be coaching your son in the first place? I'm a firm believer in the parents being cheerleaders, and the coaches being the coaches/umpire judges. To each his own though, this thread in no way shape or form will stop parents from being too harsh at games. I know that it's just part of it. I just wish you would think about it.

You're the type that I throw out the first time I hear you say ANYTHING. I'm not one to teach parenting skills, but don't you think you're teaching your son that when something isn't "fair" or "right" that you yell at the problem until it turns "fair"? LIFE'S NOT FAIR. My daughter is 2 and whenever/if she picks up softball, I solemnly promised myself that I would not be the parent that you are portraying. Did yelling at the umpire make him change his call? I would say that your son still walked back to the dugout even after your tirade. Best of luck to you and your family, just hope you think about your actions.

Worked middle school games and tourney games throughout the summer last year, it'll sure make you respect all umpires at every level.

Was at the game. Very impressed with Garrard top to bottom. I will put the meat of their lineup with anyone else in the area. Happy for Coach Lynn and the squad for starting district play 1-0. The new jerseys looked good too!

She was a softball player for Madison Central in 2009...she died in a car accident last year on I-75. Great woman that I knew personally from going to school with her at EKU. Good to see her being remembered in this way.

Hey gchs...have you seen GC this year? I know you and I would love to see them take this region, but it sure would be hard to pick them since they've never won a region. I know GC is VERY experienced and deep. Can't wait to watch them this year.

Happy for you guys. As a fellow 45th district rep, we hate each other during the season, but I'm so happy for the entire Boyle community and how much pride is going around town. Go get em Rebels, and bring home a crown to the 45th district!

Hopkinsville has to be shooting over 50%, and looks like Taylor County is struggling with the pace. You would think with Goodin they would be fine with the pace, but Hop town is having their way right now. I look for a different Taylor County after halftime.

I think they should make it as much of a "show" as possible for these kids. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for most of them, so it should be celebrated. Like hearing this.
