I just don't see why it would take that long. I think there are a couple names out there that I would hire on the spot. No interview, no nothing. BUT, I'm not the administration either. GC seems to like to drag out things. Either way, I hope they get the right guy even if it takes a month. That program has lots of talent in it now and for the next few years and those boys need discipline and a leader. I'm praying they get the right guy because that community loves its football.

If Lincoln shoots half as good as they did the other night against Garrard County, this should be a pretty close game. I look for Madison Central to pressure those guards into a lot of turnovers though, and Central will come out on top tonight. Central 78 Lincoln 66

What do you think will be the outcome of this game? Can Garrard get a better start in their second matchup with Lincoln, and pressure their guards into turnovers? Let's hope so. I'm predicting somewhat of an upset as it is always tough to get a win AT Lincoln. Garrard 63 Lincoln 61.

I agree completely with your last sentence. Lincoln is a very disciplined, and executing team who are pretty consistent night in and night out, but they are also very very young. Danville and Garrard have the talent to upset them at any time, along with the other district foe in Boyle County.

Agreed with the first post. I feel like the funny thing about that top 10, is that every team on there has the talent to upset each other on any given night. Given that Southwestern and Pulaski are more top tier teams in this region though, but I look to see a few upsets as the tournament time starts rolling around!

It was a HUGE confidence booster for the Lions. They've had a rough year so far, and know that they are a better team than they have been playing. I agree with you about the 45th this year, it will probably be one of the more competitive district tournaments we have had in a while. All I want to see is good basketball!

What's crazy is that Garrard County has just as much all around "talent" as anyone in the district, but one thing that has been killing Garrard in all of their games is execution. When Garrard executes and rebound the ball effectively, it is no question in my mind that they can play with anyone in this region. Boyle didn't play very well at all, but did enough to stay in the game. I'm proud of the Lions for pulling one out. Boyle will be just fine.

Garrard moved Abney to the point, and that really changed it all for the Lions. Garrard also played a zone the whole game and completely killed the Boyle Princeton style attack. Great game by both teams though! Good to see Garrard get back to the winning track!

What do you think the outcome to this one will be? I haven't seen Anderson play, but I do know that Garrard has struggled a bit. Garrard does however have the talent and capability of making big plays and scoring a lot of points any given night.

Sounds like the ending score was about what I predicted. I knew this game would be close. Both teams looked very good.

Surprised with how any 12th region teams have been playing the first few games? I know it's very early, but I know there has to be some surprises out there!

I watched the game on iHigh and saw that Stull had 5 three pointers. The football players came up big with being very physical and rebounding the ball well. They didn't seem to know many plays, but their athletic abilities helped a lot with the high flying Markell to the rescue for some big time rebounds. The game was never close. Garrard is really going to surprise a lot of people this year, and they can go as many as 10 or 11 deep. The friday night matchup at home should be fun!

I couldn't see from where I was standing, but from what I hear the Garrard coaches practiced it all week, and made sure it was legal or else they wouldn't have continued to do it, ya know?

The referee that called every one of them...was on the Belfry sideline.

These were all questions of mine as well. I do know for a fact that either one or more of Garrard County's coaches have e-mailed those officials since the game. It was a very hot topic around the town, but not the reason we lost the game. I agree with you Watusi, if we convert that 2 point conversion, GC wins, but that just how the cookie crumbles! Very proud of my Lions. Played their heart out. The ball just didn't roll their way and the Pirates came out on top. I also must say, Belfry had the most respectful fans I've ever been around, especially in a playoff game. Nothing but respect to Belfry for playing a very tough game, and their fans for being classy. No question who I'm cheering for in the final game, Go Pirates!

I know that I heard from a friend that Garrard County beat Paris by 1. I don't know the final score, but that is what I heard.

Those Sweet 16 games are sanctioned by the KHSAA. This sporting event wasn't sanctioned, therefore I guess the NCAA could make a move. Sounds ridiculous, but I think we have became accustomed to the idiocy of the NCAA in my opinion.

How many of these kids in KY are really going to get the chance to play at UK? Sure, their are exceptions such as Jarrod Polson, but this is absolutely absurd. I'm in shock.
