Any word on anything. Seems like they have been forgotten in the process of stabbings going on.

The job came open six hours ago. Hardly forgotten, yet certainly not ready to hire. There will be interesting names, I'm guessing.

I'll start.

 

Josh Jaggers.

 

Close to the administration. Knows the area. Was born into the game of football. Perfect opportunity for him and the Garrard County program to rise at teh same time.

 

Garrard County has found some success from the little league to middle school and up to high school in the recent years. They are hungry for success and continual improvement. I think Jaggers would be a good fit.

I don't know if Jaggers will even apply or take it if it is offered but I can confirm that there is interest on Garrard County's part and his name has been thrown around some on twitter as well. The new Superintendent at Garrard County was the principal at Larue County who hired Jaggers as an assistant and then as the Head Coach before the 2012 season. I'm intrigued to see what he may do.

Just want some opinions. I'm thinking Jerry Perry, John Hodge, Josh Jaggers, Jeff Hester and current assistant Charlie Owens will all be interested. Maybe not. Your thoughts?

He would be outstanding...but not sure he would go east. He likes big lakes!!!

Re-alignment could play a big role in this hire, unfortunately. 3A is probably gonna be stacked soon.

 

My picks would probably be 1. Jerry Perry 2. John Hodge 3. Jeff Hester. Problem is, I don't think 2 of the 3 would take it under the best of circumstances... And this ain't the best of circumstances.

Can anyone shed some light on the middle school program and little league football teams in Garrard County? I know they have improved their programs quite a bit and seem to consistently have quality talent learning the game of football earlier and playing much better as well.

I'd be shocked if Jeff Hester returned to Garrard County. He seemed really happy tonight.

Improving. They've had two programs in the county for some time, one in the northern end of the county where there were lots of transplants from Jessamine County during the 1990s and early 2000s, along with the one in town that has existed forever. I think there used to be some contention between the two programs but that isn't much of an issue anymore. The middle school program was under Bret Baierlein (now an assistant at Mercer County) for several years and won one championship and lost one, and then Ronnie Denson has been the coach for the last couple of years. Their staff has basically stayed about the same for some time.

 

So while it doesn't rival the youth leagues in Fort Thomas or in some other counties, the Garrard youth program is pretty good.

There were several alumni that wanted Perry the last time Garrard was looking for a coach. I know there was contact between the two sides then, although I'm not sure how serious it was. I would expect contact with Perry again this time, although I'm not sure if anything will come from it.
