  1. Don Irvine, from Burgin. He retired from there few years back before returning to basketball at Western Hills last year, and then got the job at GC. I don't know if it was a good hire or a bad hire either, I just don't see why you hire somebody that has retired? Irvine is a great guy from what I have seen (never talked to him). GC just needs coaching consistency in all of it's positions. A coach that will be there for 8+ years.
  2. So you just gonna leave us hanging with that last sentance Doyle? C'mon spill the beans!
  3. You're right, but the admin has tried doing it their way in the past, and have passed on some very good coaches. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expeting the same result.
  4. Well I know who I've talked to, and of course their aren't (deep pocketed) donors, but they invest a lot of money and time into the program. Even if they donate $1, that still helps. Doesn't have to be $1million.
  5. I know a lot of alumni that want a huge hire, or their done. I've heard it from far too many of them. We will see if the administration takes notice from those who put lots of money into that program for the kids or not. Hopefully the administration will listen to at least what they have to say.
  6. Either way, the kid shouldn't be doing either of the two. He's a very VERY talented point guard with tons of potential at the next level, he needs to just play ball. Hope the attitude thing turns around for the kid, I really do.
  7. I've heard his name floating around, but I personally don't know much about him. Anybody got any background info on him for a rookie like me?
  8. I'm asking because I feel like this is moving slower than we thought it would. I know it's only been a couple of days though! Maybe I'm just impatient?
  9. Has this gotten any closer to being complete? Are they in the interviewing stages now?
  10. Just want some opinions. I'm thinking Jerry Perry, John Hodge, Josh Jaggers, Jeff Hester and current assistant Charlie Owens will all be interested. Maybe not. Your thoughts?
  11. From what I have gathered from my friends that formally played at Central when Scenters was there, they wanted him to be hired at Central in the first place when the other coach got hired there before he moved on to GC. Great guy, wish him well at MC. Hopefully Garrard doesn't mess this hire up...
  12. Love Jordan Fox. Coached that kid on a summer team, and he's a very respectful young man who's basketball I.Q is out of this world.
  13. It's surely been a while, but very refreshing to see these guys getting the offers and commitments they deserve. Great for the state.
  14. Jeff Hester deserves a shot. Love the guy like a brother.
  15. PurplePride92 is right, I meant he won't have a bad game like he did the last. Lincoln played a tough zone that night, but I think Coach Adams will have his men ready for it come gametime. Should be a great battle.
  16. You're right. Maybe Hodge sees that and that makes the Boyle job a better situation. (never thought I would say Bourbon could possibly be a better job than Boyle). I know John and his family personally and he loves this area...(Boyle/Garrard) area. Only time will tell right?
  17. If my opinion is worth anything, (which my wife says it never is)...I think it will be a new name that not a lot of people around the BC area know about. Of course I would love to see my buddy John Hodge get the job, but he is setup so well at Bourbon that I don't know if he would leave? Horse farm money flowing in, and plenty of transfers, he seems pretty happy. Who knows though? I've seen crazier things happen! One thing we know for sure, is this will be exciting to watch.
  18. I've got Boyle also in this game. Hagan Tyler will come into his own finally and have at least 20. The supporting cast should handle Lincoln's zone and I'll take the Rebels for this showdown. BC 53 LC 49
