I think Snider wins it but I can see Jackson Davis making it really close.

From the past years , it is who makes it to state and has a great showing.

Truth. If Scott County makes it then I can see Gilbert making a strong case also. I think it could be very close.

Agree, the players that don't make it, I do believe it hurts their chances, when another does and has a great showing.

Still remember watching Brandon Hatton for the first time play JV as a short stocky 7th grader. Now he is a Mr Basketball Finalist and on the verge of being the 9th region's all time leading scorer. Big congrats to BHatt on this accomplishment.

Great list of young men. All very nice players. Congrats to all. Any of them close to Hatton's scoring numbers? Curiously wondering.... :sssh:

Q Snider has over 2K points...without looking it up, I'd say he's the closest.

Agree with all that's been said here. One of Gilbert or Davis will be eliminated when their team doesn't make it to Rupp. Maybe both if neither Scott nor Lafayette make it.

I think Snider has to be the leader right now though.

Just my 2 cents worth but I have seen them all play for the last 4 years and Jackson Davis is the best of the group. His shooting ability, size and quickness set him apart. He's developed enough IMO to play the 2 or 3 spot at a high D-1 level. I also know he's an extraordinary student and all around fine young man.

Well said. :thumb:

Davis is the best I've seen this year, but I've yet to see Ballard.

I hate that the number of wins in the tourney has an impact on the winner.

This is a really deep field of candidates.

Jackson Davis is the best player I have seen this season and I have seen all of the finalists except Shane Hall and Justin Johnson.

I do think Snider will win it because I expect Ballard to make it to Rupp, he's the highest ranked player in the state, he's headed to defending national champion UL and he's lived up to the hype.

Personally Snider is my favorite of the group(I'm partial to point guards) but Jackson Davis has been the best player I have seen this season.

The last four years it has gone to whoever wins the Sweet 16 MVP

Elisha Justice

Anthony Hickey

Nathan Deudonie (sp?)

Dominique Hawkins

This award should be made before the sweet 16,PERIOD. my winner would be Davis if I voting right now. I do not understand how Hatton got his name in the hat,,he is not a complete player, only a shooter, and if he played his whole time on a more rounded team he would not have a ll the points
