2014 Mr. Basketball Finalists

Featured Replies

I was under the impression that the coaches had already voted.

Last year Media made the final decision.

I read your question as "who selects the finalists" not who selects the winner.

Just my opinion, Because Snider has already signed with "Louisville", I believe most voters are giving Mr Basketball to someone who lives out in the state.

The only people I can see getting it over Snider would be Jackson Davis and he is very deserving of the award and Kelan Martin who is as deserving. There is a small gap between those three and the rest of the field IMO. No way Mr. Basketball isn't one of those three.

And they should all be glad D'Angelo Russell isn't still at Central or it would be his award without any questions.

I believe the media picks the winner but I could be mistaken.

A little surprised Lamontray Harris didn't make the final list.

I would agree with those mentioning Snider and Davis as the favorites.

For whatever reason there is very little hype around Harris but I agree with you. He should be a finalist IMO.

I think this is tied into the Lyons club Ky. Vs Indy All star game. I'm assuming whomever picks those kids for the team also pick Mr Ky. Basketball? Just not sure who that is?

Was told Q Snider currently has 2,184 pts for the person who asked who was closest to Hatton.

This award should be made before the sweet 16,PERIOD. my winner would be Davis if I voting right now. I do not understand how Hatton got his name in the hat,,he is not a complete player, only a shooter, and if he played his whole time on a more rounded team he would not have a ll the points

What more would you like Hatton to do?

- Will play in over 180 varsity games for his career.

- Has missed just 1 game in a 6 yr varsity career

- Unlike Scott Draud, who averaged 20+ shots per game to get the record, Hatton AVERAGES just 12 shots per game for his varsity career

- Doesn't play in blowouts like Draud did...Chevy will tell you he has probably cost Hatton 300 pts alone from not trying to pad BH stats and run the score up on teams.

- Will score 3000+ points for his career

- Plays every position on the team

- Has started varsity since his 8th grade year, leading the team in scoring every year.

As NKUbaseball said...what more would you like to see him do?!? He was the best player on a 9th region championship team as a SOPHOMORE. Put him on a more rounded team and his numbers are probably even more impressive as he gets more good looks than what he does now. Kid is an iron man and one of the most efficient players to ever play in the 9th region.

Trent Gilbert has 2,344 points.

OK

OK

If we're going to put down Vermont....If Davis is the best in the state, than why Rice?

Snider wins it, IMO

Completely disagree. Great penetrator. Great passer. Effective rebounder for his height. Very efficient scorer.

"Only a shooter" makes me think you haven't watched him much.

I do not believe Davis has signed with Rice,,,,only verbally comitted....
