It's surely been a while, but very refreshing to see these guys getting the offers and commitments they deserve. Great for the state.

I do not believe Davis has signed with Rice,,,,only verbally comitted....

He never signed. This is correct

A while? Ever?

Point remains the same....Also, it could be argued, and successfully I might add, that Vermont is a better basketball program than Rice....Rice hasn't sniffed the NCAA in almost 45 years....

As of today KenPom has Vermont at 88 and Rice at 308.

Rice is ranked the 18th best University in the country in US news rankings. Not sure where else he was looking but he will get a great education there!

If he's good enough to play pro ball, they will find him there

No doubt. My whole point was, it's poor form to knock the college choice of any of these young men, and even poorer form to use the University they've chosen to continue playing at as a means for saying they don't belong as a finalist.

Spot on.

OK

Bigger schools were calling. His back issues over the summer are what kept them from offering. They were in a "wait and see" mode. Brandon was ready to get the recruiting process finished with and Vermont showed him the most love. He will go in there and play right away and have the ball in his hands.

Vermont is a good program that is a tournament team regularly. That's "why Vermont."

2010 was a good class...not as high profile as this year's group, but still solid:

Ricardo Johnson- Ohio U

Ge'Lawn Guyn- UC (went prep first)

Elijah Pittman- Marshall (JUCO first)

Chad Jackson- James Madison

Dakotah Euton- Akron (Obviously ended up back in KY)

Josh Sewell- Miami (OH)

Elijah Justice- Louisville

I believe one of the Faulkner boys from Elliott Co also went to Radford.

Is it possible Davis chose Rice because of academic reasons? Even though they're athletes I do believe they're still awarded degrees if they complete the requirements.

Evan went there for a year.

And Aaron Cosby started with this class before transferring to prep school his junior year. He started at Seton Hall last year and transferred to Illinois before this season.

Sorry, Didn't realize this was referring to Mr. Bball candidates
