Garrard is very young, but their overall talent and speed will put them in a lot of games this year, that people wouldn't have thought they would be in. Just keep an eye on them.

I'm excited to see what kind of crowd Garrard County brings out on Friday night. This should be a great atmosphere for some football!

Are there any teams in the 12th region this year that you think can sneak up on the higher ranked teams? I personally think that Mercer County and Garrard County will surprise a lot of people. Garrard, being very young has some kids that can flat out play. Mercer is going to get up and down the court well. Thoughts?

Garrard wins this one, but not by as much as we would hope. I say that Powell hangs around till the 4th quarter and Garrard pulls away with the major speed advantage. Garrard wins this one 52-36. I'd like to see Markell and Corey have a big first half, and then see Billy air it out in the second half. Go and get it GC!

Exactly right. I'm sure they drilled in their heads the importance of stepping on the gas, instead of stopping mid-trip for a pit stop, and that's what they did in the Western Hills game (halftime). I agree with your earlier post though, that Garrard needs to step on the gas early, hit a couple big plays with McCoy and Hayes and put Russell in a hole. Guess we'll see tonight, should be a good one!

Yes, weaker opponents. There is absolutely no way that Western Hills should have scored 40 points on Garrard at home. I wasn't saying that Russell is a weak opponent, they are just weaker than Garrard this season. Garrard has more speed.

I was at the Hazard/Lynn Camp game last week. Hazard scored the first 5 plays that they took from scrimmage. Hazard has too many weapons on the outside, I go with Hazard to win 52-12.

Southwestern is stacked. Boyle should be fine. One thing though, don't sleep on Garrard County. They're led by sophomore guard/shooting guard Austin Sebastian who was left off of the top 10 players for some reason. By the end of this season, I'm sure whoever made that list will be asking themselves why he wasn't placed in the top 5. This kid can score, shoot off the dribble, and can sky to the basket. Just watch out for him. Don't say that I didn't tell you so!

Garrard wins this one 42-27. I say that, because Garrard should beat them by more than 15 points, but Garrard always seems to let up on weaker opponents at home. Guess we'll see tonight. Good luck to both teams!
