Lot of people on this thread that are going to find "something" wrong with whatever GC does. Those people probably shouldn't be worried about the hire nor any other hires at the school. :idunno: They will do the right thing.

Are all high school coaching searches this quiet? As in no names have been released as to who has applied or anything like that? Maybe I'm just impatient... :idunno:

Any updates? Anybody? I'm about as patient as a herd of cattle, I know.

The bold couldn't have been any better put. They'll all say "it's just so much better here, things are different here" kind of things. BUT as soon as somebody makes that parent mad, they'll be right back to square one. My main point, is you cannot make everyone happy. Ever.

Ya know, I was thinking yesterday...people say all the time (and in this thread) "the Athletic Director and Principal have gotten the hiring in all sports wrong in the past so they'll screw it up again". But man it's gotta be tough on them. I mean no matter who they choose, people are going to like the hire, and people are going to criticize the hire. Especially in Garrard County, there are parents that blame everything on the admin/coaches/teachers but never put any blame on their own son or daughters performance on the field or court. So then those parents move away and bash everything GC does from then on, like some on this thread that sound like they are "from GC" and bash everything about them. Those people on this thread are more than likely the ones of many that have moved their kids away. I wouldn't want the responsibilites of the principal or anyone else in the administration. Most people that criticize them would never be able to do the things those people do everyday. At the end of the day, we all want the kids to play their hearts out for whoever the coach is.

There is now a Facebook page that has been created called "Bring Jerry Perry Back To Garrard County" with 220 likes on it already after one day of being opened. Think people inside the admin will see this and this help them decide? I know it's just a facebook page but they have got to see how many people are supporting that. Now whether or not Jerry wants to come is another thing. Hope it's not the latter.

Seems like you have some kind of vendetta against GC Booby Miles, every post on here has been pretty negative. They will do the right thing this time around, trust me.

It was one of those games. Garrard missed every shot, didn't run their offense, and played lazily on defense. Danville shot 56 percent from the field and was on fire. Garrard has a team that can compete with anyone in the region, but as we have seen, they can get beat by 40 by any team in the region. I was there for the first half and left because it was embarassing. Yes they had all of their players, but they didn't show up. Bad night all around.

Look, Jerry Perry is the pick. Heard from multiple people yesterday and today and I think it's just in the final stages before being announced. I'm not afraid to say it :claps:

Garrard County is coming off of a 13 point loss to Lincoln, and Danville hasn't played since their win against Campbellsville 57-48. Garrard is winless in the district, while Danville has their lone district win over Garrard at Garrard. My prediction? Garrard wins this one tonight in Danville with their depth of talent, and overcomes a halftime deficit and wins it 71-64. Thoughts?

I'm right there with you man, and this is my alma mater. Things have got to change and maybe we will see change in this hire? That's when we will truly know. We will either say "great hire" or "things never change." Time will tell that's for sure.

Jerry Perry, Hodge, and Jeff Hester are all thought HIGHLY of by the community. Is Hodge not thought highly of by the administration? Maybe not. But they should settle their differences and move on IMO. The reason people didn't like Hodge last year? Because he beat the tar out of us. Some people don't like getting beat and then say they hate the coach of that team. I love Hodge and all he stands for, and what he stands for is success.

The reason I think Jerry Perry is the pick? Well to start off, he went 65-18 from 1990-1996. He is also very disciplined and would have those kids (who need a little discipline in sports) respecting him on and off the field. He's my pick hands down.

I agree, two teams with a lot of scoring capabilities.

I can already see how Mullins has changed our community. He gets on twitter/instagram and has lately been posting updates on weather and pictures of bad roads as to why they are not in school. He is a very down to earth guy and knows what buttons to push to get the community the best services possible for the school he represents and the athletic programs that represent the school. Never met the guy but he always has a smile on his face, and I think wether superindentents have had a say in the hiring of the football coach in the past, he IMO will have a say in this one. Guess we'll all have to just stay tuned! :popcorn:

I honestly think the administration won't mess this hire up this time.
