Garrard wins this one, but not by as much as we would hope. I say that Powell hangs around till the 4th quarter and Garrard pulls away with the major speed advantage. Garrard wins this one 52-36. I'd like to see Markell and Corey have a big first half, and then see Billy air it out in the second half. Go and get it GC!

I'm excited to see what kind of crowd Garrard County brings out on Friday night. This should be a great atmosphere for some football!

Granted we didn't play well at all, Powell County bested us twice this year...nothing flashy, just good hard football. I also spent some time at Powell County a few years ago...call it sentimental, but Go Pirates.

Powell has lived on turnovers the last two weeks. There were 8 turnovers by LC, including onside kicks. Bourbon had 4 plus a punter tackled inside the 30, plus 1 was returned for a TD. Turnovers or lack there of will play a big role in the game.

Interesting. Garrard rarely turns the ball over. I know they've only thrown 5 interceptions and I'd wager they haven't had more than 7 lost fumbles all season. But one of those lost fumbles (which was questionable) resulted in a touchdown in the first game, which actually made the score closer than it probably should have been.

I'm wondering what kind of crowd there will be tonight. In one aspect, since it's a regional championship, I'd be expecting a fairly large crowd. On the other hand, there are always those select few Garrard fans that only want to come to the game if it's 70 degrees and

sunny.

 

Side note. Today as I was walking to class at EKU, I saw a girl with a "Powell County Football" shirt on. I asked her if they were bringing a big crowd, and she said that they were bringing plenty of people to pack that side of the football field. I guess we'll see about that.
