I hope it's big and rowdy. The size of the crowd is usually pretty good, although half of the crowd is seemingly band members and band parents who leave after halftime every game. I wish the administration would ask the band to play the entire game (like they do for basketball) but I don't make those decisions.

 

What is nice about Dyehouse Stadium is everyone is right on top of the field. If your crowd is loud and boisterous it can be intimidating to the visitors.

The road ends here for Russell, and the sad thing is that there will be some Russell fans blame the loss on their legendary coach Ivan McGlone . No way could it be anything else. Now, should the devils pullthe uoset McGlone will recieve no credit from a couple of the Russell fans, Coach "P.C. Keyboard" or Coach "I. Net" will have Russell winniong in spite of McGlone. :lol:

Hope the Devils do it...anyone know what type of offense Garrad Co. runs?

Statistically Garrard County is about 75/25 run/pass. The two best running backs are seniors Wilson and Hayes. Both have ran for over 1,300 yards on the season and have combined for 38 rushing touchdowns. The quarterback, Abney, a junior, is a 54% passer having thrown for over 1,500 yards with 18 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. And the leading receiver, McCoy, has caught 12 touchdown passes and is just shy of 1,000 yards receiving.

gchs, it sounds like it may be a low scoring good game given the information you've given. Russell is pretty strong versus the run and a little weaker versus the pass. Plus, Russell is about 90/10 run/pass so there probably won't be many possessions for either team. I think it will be a great game.

Garrard's O figures to take what the Devil's D gives them. Doubt they can do a good enough job defending both the run and pass to keep the Lions from winning this one. Garrard's D will be challenged by the Wing T. Make it a 34-20 GC victory.

If they get cold and rain does that benefit one side more than the other?

As a Garrard fan my biggest worry is:

-Russell dominates possession by churning out first downs and Garrard has two early turnovers keeping the offense off the field.

 

As a Garrard fan my biggest desire is:

-Garrard puts two quick scores up (average halftime score for Garrard this season: 22-7) and forces Russell out of their comfort zone.

 

We shall see which, if any, will happen. As to mcpapa's question about bad weather, on the surface it would appear that Russell might have an advantage, but Garrard's running back Wilson is a power back who can churn out the hard yards and Hayes isn't too bad at that either. My concern with bad weather would be slowing down Garrard's passing game.

I've only seen film on Garrard, so it is tough for me to speculate on just how good they are, but I have seen Russell, and when they are on, they are tough to beat. Definitely two different styles of football, but I have Russell in a close one...

Russell only has one zone. Slow and deliberate. Without turnovers, I'd suspect it would be extremely difficult for Russell to overcome 2+ scores.
