Another kid that greatly benefited from experience with a great summer organization, Cincy Flames. Kudos Mitchell, KWU is a great school.

Than BW has beaten, or faced? Mt. Healthy would beat any team in these rankings, as would Dixie. I say again, any team in here would have 2 losses had they played those two. Mt Healthy is still unbeaten playing a D2 Ohio schedule, and has a QB that's an FBS scholarship player, and a WR that's gonna name his ticket. No comparison between them and Belfrey, sorry.

It's Mayfield, Beechwood, and the rest. Disagree about your scheduling comment, these two schools hands down have played the toughest schedule. Mt Healthy is the real deal-a D2 Ohio team that went deep in playoffs last year-BW almost got them, and Dixie is a big strong 6a team with several next level players on it. Every team on the list would have 2 losses had they played those two schools. IMO the Tigers will avenge last years loss to Frankfort and prove it was the exception rather than the rule.

This game was a huge disappointment. Moe not as good offensively as they've been, but still have specimens all over the field. Never felt this game was in jeopardy, as it was pretty clear X wasn't going to move the ball or score much.

Wow. Guess I was wrong on this one. I made the trip to the ville to watch big Moe play, was like watching paint dry. Should have saved the gas.

Franklin County wins. Every coach in the state knows how to attack that ridiculous defensive scheme that BW continues to try to run, just not all have the horses to be successful at it. FC does, look for them to exploit the edges vs the BW run D and rack up huge yards.

There are a lot of schools that would be 0-2 had they played Mt. Healthy and Dixie, including every 1a school in the state not named Mayfield. Appears it's piling on time for old school haters, not old school beechwood folks.

I was not at this one, but was at the Mt Healty game. Sounds like same game played out. Complete dominance by opposition on both lines, which is hard to understand. BW has some nice size kids. Strength seems to be a real issue, which tells the tale of off season workout programs and dedication to same. BW has athletes all over the field, and from what I saw they do a poor job a distributing and balancing the plays. I get to very few Tiger games, but I typically know what play is coming based on personnel package and alignment. That's play calling and imagination. They keep trying to fit square pegs in round holes, i.e. trying to continually ram the ball between tackles on running plays. Looks to me like they have a bunch of in space guys, but do very little out of sets to utilize them. Have it occasionally stretch the defense and run a toss sweep or something. Ran a great end around to slusher in game at UC, he turned it into a big play. Studer is great on the edge and as a WR, but between the tackles he is pedestrian. Stringer can fly, but seems lost tip toeing behind the center looking for a yard or two. No excuse to get beat that bad. Dixie is not a great team, at least not as good as BW made them look. Seems they need a little shake up in play calling duties or at least philosophy. No clue about defense. In the games I have watched they appear lost and have no continuity or team concept of where they are to be and when.

Yes, plenty of ways to get there, as in any sport. Scottie Pippen wasn't a D1 player. Neither was my favorite Bengal Kenny Anderson. That said, odds are much better. In the 2014 MLB draft, only D1 and HS players were taken in the first two rounds. Many kids at the D3 level give up the game, can't afford it. Yes, coaches can get "creative", but many D3 schools are very expensive, and still leave a very large bill left even after the aid. At a state school in Ky, which are all D1 baseball programs, the college bill can be very minimal after athletic, academic, grants, and KEES $. Little tougher over here in Ohio, but still there. JUCO is used for kids that either didn't have the grades or didn't like their draft status, and there are no obligatory wait years that route. A lot of D1 programs also use JUCO as a farm system, and there are some great programs. One or our kids, Zach Shannon, went that route--he didn't have the grades to fulfill his Ohio State commit. At any level, making it to the show is a WAY long shot, but recent history shows the big programs can offer a better % and for cheaper.

Congrats on your tenure, I am sure it's well deserved. I simply disagree with just about everything you are pushing here. Go pull a college roster, at least a D1 or D2 one. You will be hard pressed to find a kid that has any kids that did not play some type of travel ball or select. Don't mean to be harsh, but legion ball is dead. Thing of the past. My team played three of them this summer, we threw kids that dont even pitch and run ruled them all. In the 80s legion was all there was. It's changed.

Lol. Predictable out of you. You seem to have a real axe to grind with a couple kids. There are plenty other kids on that team, not just the BW old guard. You do the same thing in baseball. I know you like to ignore it, but the leading rusher, scorer, and receiver returned from last year too. Once they abandoned the run they turned him into a pass protector and he did a good job protecting the QB. If you don't think Ethan Stringer needs to be an integral part of that O you have no clue. Nobody did anything on the ground, including your beloved mentioned. Nothing happened until they started getting kids is space and using Fieger as a playmaker and scrambler.

Good game. Tigers inability to do anything on the ground hurt them. Once they spread it out and used Studer as a WR they started moving it. No clue what made the BW coaching staff think they could play man to man bump and run coverage on the athletes the Owls had at WR. Cost them the game.
