PBR is there to provide a glimpse into the potential of a kid for college coaches. They will rate a kid without camp attendance of they see them play, there are several kids that are committed wilthout showcase data. Unfortunately, baseball IQ and competitiveness is not what coaches look for if not accompanied by the physical size and skills, just like the ability to throw strikes for a pitcher, they look for raw velocity. Coaches feel they can teach and pull the rest out of kids.

New Cath by more than last time.

These games are simply absurd. This is why I prefer Ohio playoff format. Certainly get some first round duds, but at least most games are good. C'mon KHSAA, eliminate two classes and half the "playoff teams".

Really flawed logic. You are comparing scores from last year, with no regard to returning players or improvement? As silly as that is, BW lost to Cov Cath last year by 30, beat them this year by 15. Lost last year to Franklin County, no contest this year. BW is not even remotely like last years team, which was young and made up of mostly first year starters. Markedly better this year. Mayfield has struggled with teams this year they beat last year, including a loss to a mediocre McCracken team. No clue who wins the game, but only those who haven't seen BW play this year are dismissing them.

Guilty as charged, lol. Gonna be out in the cold all night tonight rooting on my nephew and the Illini, can only handle one night. I get your point, but I just felt BW was the superior team and would win it. Much more well rounded. Was concerned about NCC ability to get the edge again. Tigers better shore that up, or Mayfield would crush them.

Winkler, Hicks, Heflin, Olmstead, Verchek, Rump, the left guard, Marksberry, Hicks, Deaton and Carter That's you best WR, 4 starting OLine, best Dlineman, and three big strong active linebackers that make the DBs better. Those are just the ones I know from watching. So, yes, really. Add in the fact they play a real schedule next year, gonna be a long one

You'll be non existent here next year. SK is mediocre this year, and lose most of their best players. .500 at best next year, and Marksberry will be back on phone looking for tomato cans, begging them back on schedule

iMO, which I believe I'm entitled to, this years big school champ comes out of the north. Hudson very good, and I guess I keep waiting for Eds to play the way the are capable, like they looked vs Moe. I agree it's open, but there is no 2013 Moe out there.

Tigers just had one bad quarter, as Rash said they let their guard down and the D stopped wrapping. Other than the 60 yarder, Smith was pretty well contained. Other 21 carries for 90 yards, that's pretty acceptable against that kid. Sitting in my living room watching, I never felt game was in doubt

That's big boy football right there, and why I love Ohio HS football. Don't just get a participation ribbon and a playoff game. Every team on there earned there way in, and even the 1-16 game is not a foregone conclusion. I will stay in Ohio the first two weeks for sure, let all the running clock games in Kentucky get done.

Good for him. I'm not on the PBR payroll, but am their biggest fan. They keep things relatively cheap, and their site and events most certainly are well attended by coaches from every level. They won't ever catch Perfect Game, they are the big dog as evidenced by the Taj Majal complex they've built in Atlanta, but they are a sold #2 in my book. Honestly, for kids in this area, they may be the best. PG is heavily southern weighted.

An Ohio team?

LaSalle is very good, they were good last year and will be good next. Can't wait to watch them vs Mt Healthy down the line, should be a battle. GCL just isn't as strong as it's been in the past. Trust me, that still makes them one of best conferences in state, but relatively speaking I'm not sure there is a threat to win the big school title.

BW offensive line was really good all night. There were the occasional missed assignment and loss of yardage, but for the most part Stringer was getting 4-5 yards in every play, mixed with some 10-12 yarders and the long TD run. Knock on him was he always looks for the home run and dances a little, saw none of that last night. BW D struggled in second qtr giving the edge on a lot of misdirection and sweeps, but made adjustments in second half and shut the Breds out. Agree w/VOR, Brett Slusher is a beast at LB. I will go as far as saying if I had one pick to play that spot for me, give me Brett. He has blazing speed, hits like a truck, and seems to always be around the ball. Both teams looked gased at the end. Neither teams starters had played much more than a qtr in the last month. Jacob Smith does not get enough pub. That kid is shifty and is as good as any RB I've seen all year. Great ability to make people miss.

Proof why AP polls were, are, and will be a joke. These guys have no clue what's going on with the exception of in their little markets. Anyone who voted SK over Dixie should have their voting privileges removed.

Check this out. April 8-11 in Louisville, you would be hard pressed to find a field like this anywhere in the Midwest. Lots of marquee names out there. I am surprises there aren't any more NKY teams in it other than BW. Big Moe is headed to Atlanta for spring break to play at the PG complex in Emerson, so they will not be there. Iggy is awful good though. No surprise there are a lot of Louisville commits in the field, being organized by Jordan Adell's dad, a 2017 Cards commit from Ballard. Hilltoppers doing well with top in state talent.

Theres a RB duo at BW that has 1200 yards, averages almost 8 ypc, and has 26 Tds that gets no love. Reason? It's a duo of Joe Studer and Ethan Stringer. If either of those kids were getting 15 or 20 carries a night, they would be right in this conversation. Joe hasn't played in two and a half games and still has 550 yards and 11 tds. They've both only carried it less than 80 times each And IMO if John Stokes was a feature RB he would be too. Depth is their strength. I'd rather run 3 good ones out there all day.

That's correct Clyde. Pitching staff is devastating for HS baseball, with Missouri, Kent State, UC, and Louisville repped. Oh, and there are a couple junior positional players that will eventually sign D1, and a couple more pitchers that could be committed that will pitch on the JV team. Just nuts the depth right now.

I might just do that. But, I say again, why would T entertain that? I don't see Moeller scheduling any D5 or 6 teams in Ohio? And IF, and it's a big IF, T was going to schedule a smaller school, why wouldn't they call Mayfield, the king of 1A? You guys kill me. Just because IMO T has zero business scheduling Belfrey, which to their credit they won't, doesn't mean I don't think Belfrey is any good. I am sure they are a fine team. As far as them not being "afraid", good for them. Not convinced they have played an upper echelon schedule of larger teams, those names don't do much for me, at least not any more than what Mayfield, BW, New Cath, etc play and I don't see any of those teams clamoring to play a game vs Trinity.

But you are still hung up on a W vs Collins in 2013. I give Dixie the relevancy advantage here. Dixie really wins big in playoffs, if SK makes that far. Looked like an SEC team vs a B10 team round 1. Way too much speed from Drew and the gang. SK was running in quick sand.

Are we talking about the same Belfrey that lost to a 1a school this year? Scheduling Trinity? Why in the world would T entertain that?
