Kentucky AP football poll 6A

Featured Replies

Class 6A

Rank-School FPV Rcd TP Pvs

1. Male (18) 9-0 180 1

2. St. Xavier - 6-3 149 2

3. Central Hardin - 9-0 132 3

4. Trinity - 5-4 120 4

5. Scott Co. - 8-1 113 5

6. McCracken County - 8-1 89 7

7. Simon Kenton - 9-1 52 T10

8. DuPont Manual - 6-3 49 8

9. Meade Co. - 7-2 44 9

10. Dixie Heights - 8-1 27 T10

I like Central Hardin but they are ranked too high. I would move them to number 6 as I think they are better than McCracken County.

SK at 7 and DH at 10 is laughable. But I have a feeling we'll get a chance to see it settled on the field (like we already have once).

I hope so. SK has a lot of unfinished business. Dixie, Butler and Trinity or Scott County or X!!! :D

I guess the AP doesn't pay much attention to head to head scores. That are they've been hitting the whacky weed. I guess if Dixie hadn't called off the dogs and had beat SK worse they would have dropped further? Too funny.

No clue on who wins a SK/DHHS rematch but you simply cannot have SK ahead of Dixie. No wins on SK's schedule to support such a thing.

At first blush Dixie appears to have the tougher schedule. Both have 1 loss.

Out of that list, Dixie may be #6. Either way, don't know how they are ranked behind Simon Kenton. Kind of surprised to see SK ahead of Manual.

I would argue that Central Hardin beat a team in Meade County, with probably the best defense in the state. Just because Central Hardin doesn't reside in Louisville Metro doesn't mean they aren't any good. I guess that is why they have the playoffs, I am sure that nobody picked Meade County to go all the way last year either.

Proof why AP polls were, are, and will be a joke. These guys have no clue what's going on with the exception of in their little markets. Anyone who voted SK over Dixie should have their voting privileges removed.

I've seen AP polls that show the papers that vote. There are a lot from the extreme east and west of the state. Not sure anyone in NKY votes anymore.

How you figure? The best teams they played where each other.

As others have said....SK in front of Dixie is the story of a mythomaine!

Meade has a very good defense, but I am not sure about the best in the state. I am a believer in Central Hardin (at least for this year and next year) but if they want respect they are going to have to win some very tough games in the playoffs. I believe they have Meade, Scott County, Bryan Station, and Henry Clay on their side of the bracket so we will see how good they really are.
