It's been a LONG two and a half weeks on the road. Good to be home. Missed a lot of good NKY football. Looks like Highlands and Dixie are heads and heels above everyone else. Hearing Dixie has looked very good the past two or three weeks. Not surprised, think they might have the MOST talented players in NKY this season. Here would be my top 10

1) Highlands, but not that much of a spread between them and the Red Colonels, guessing Dixie would like a due over again against the Blue Colonels.

2) Dixie

3) Beechwood

4) Simon Kenton- Guessing Dixie's two way players didn't get tired?

5) Ryle- Rlye beat Cov. Cath

6) Cov. Cath

7) Campbell County Didn't CC beat Cooper? How can you put them behind Cooper?

8) Cooper

9) NCC

10) Scott

I guess they can because they put Cooper behind Ryle and Cooper beat Ryle.

Wasn't the England Kid hurt and didn't play much in that game? Huge difference if he didn't play much, even you would understand this, right?

Cooper had players hurt also as their starting TE got hurt before the season even started and hasn't played at all and had others hurt for the Campbell game. Can't pick and choose to benefit one team and not use the same criteria for the other. The starting TE would have been one of the few returning starters for Cooper's offense, instead he misses his entire senior season. Cooper had 4 of their top 5 players out for the SK game, does that mean Cooper should be ranked ahead of SK?

Something people seem to forget and never give Cooper credit for is the fact that this was a team in the first game of the year with only 3 returning starters, 2 of them were on the offensie and defensive line. They had all new starters for all other positions including skill positions and was still figuring out their offense. It's easy to say Ryle would have been better offensivley if England was played like he did 2 weeks ago, but at the same time Cooper's offense is a ton better also but is ignored as they also had players hurt who didn't play at all for that game.

They aren't that much better than everone; Dixie may be equal to them based on the way they are playing now.

Could be, but England might be the best back in NKY, still a huge difference, with Ryle and No England. Should be a good gauge this week who might be better. Dixie beat Ryle by 11, we'll see what the final is come Friday night against Cooper. Don't give me this game means nothing either, first of all it's high school kids playing, not the NFL, and it's probably senior night for Dixie, I'm guessing. We'll see. I'll go with Dixie 42 Cooper 6.

England could be the best back in NKY, I am a huge fan of his as many on here know. That doesn't automatically mean they would beat Cooper now though. If that is how the rankings go then why isn't Ryle listed in front of Dixie? England wasn't 100% and only played part of that game last week also.

Teams play for a reason, you can't just simply toss out the outcome because someone didn't get as many touches as you wanted him to have. There is also a difference in a player playing some and not playing at all. England played that game and it wasn't just the 2nd half, he was in the first half also as well as the 1st qtr. The very first or second pass attempt went to him and was incomplete, not Cooper's fault he didn't get more touches early on so why hold it against Cooper for beating Ryle by mulitple scores because Ryle's best player wasn't as involved as many wanted?

As far as this weeks game being a huge gauge, don't hold your breath. It's a meaningless game for both teams and the backups will get more playing time. Now with that said, what happens if Cooper's backups end up winning against Dixie's backups? Do you then say Cooper is #2 in the rankings? Of course not. There is a huge difference in a game between district opponents and a game between 2 teams where the game doesn't matter at all and is the last game before playoffs start.

(People also seem to forget the best part of Coopers team is their defense and I think you are selling them short, I will leave it at this...last week although Cooper's opponent was Grant Co. all we heard was how big their RB was and he'd give Cooper a little trouble, well with the starting defense and with most of the injured back on defense finally from before the SK game, GC's RB on multiple carries I don't think had a single positive yard rushing until the 2nd qtr when the backups came in)

Hear this every year from teams not on HHS' schedule. New year, new gunslinger, same sheriff.

For what it's worth, you may not be far off.

I'm not arguing with you any more. Dixie lost to Cov. Cath week one, Ryle lost to Cooper week one, teams get better or worse as the season progresses. I think you're crazy if you think Dixie's coaching staff would allow senior night to be won or lost by it's JV players, the soph. and jr's. Dixie will play it's Seniors until this game is decided, no way you want to go into the playoffs on a losing note. Dixie 42 Cooper 6. Now if Cooper decides not to play most of it's starters, then this game will get really ugly, and fast!

That is fine, I never said Dixie was going to play their jv the entire game, I did say that Coopers starters won't be in much at all. I didn't say Cooper was going to win, I said you can't compare this game with last weeks game due to the fact that this game has zero meaning to it as last weeks were both district games and had seedings dependent on the outcome. If you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

You are right about one thing though, some teams do get better as the season goes on, Dixie has gotten much better, Cooper and Ryle and Beechwood all clearly gotten better since week 1.

I doubt very seriously Cooper's coaching staff or the players are going to lose sleep this week thinking about this game. Senior night at Dixie? Of course the coach is going to start his seniors. Isn't that what senior night is all about? The question is how long do these two head coaches risk their starting players in a meaningless game for both teams. As I said once before. I think Coach Borchers will start his regulars to get them some reps especially those that have come back from injuries that kept them sidelined for the last month of the season. Other than that, I expect at least on the Cooper side of the field substitutions will start early so not to risk injury that would hamper Cooper's chances of making a run in the playoffs.

I'll give you credit you fight for your team. I would be saying these same things had SK, or CC or Ryle beat Dixie. I like 6A football the best in NKY, and think each year it's the BEST Div. top to bottom, most of the time, to each his own Birdman. Good talking to you again Hellbird, you have a few good points, Good conversation.
