The Beechwood Tigers finished the regular season winning 8 straight, including impressive wins over 5A Franklin County, 4A Covington Catholic and 2A Newport Central Catholic. The Tigers enter the playoffs with a 8-2 record and ranked #2 in 1A in the state.

The Bracken County Polar Bears are in a major rebuild and playing a very young lineup, including a number of freshmen. They enter this round 1 playoff game winless.

This one looks as lopsided as can be on paper. What can the Polar Bears hope for in this one?

Everyone getting back on the bus in one piece.

Without question.

How much playing time will the Beechwood freshman team get? That is the most interesting question to consider in this one.

I hope plenty.

This is more than a mismatch of monumental proportions. Our Brossart Mustangs 1-8 (one win over Bracken County) beat the Polar Bears 40-0. Even considering having the Polar Bears play Beechwood is ludicrous. Total waste of both team's time. Someone could really get hurt in this one.

It's a shame they have to play. I am rooting for Bracken to continue to be able to build a solid program. Those kids show a lot of courage to go out every Friday and play.

As for the Tigers is an open week the next Two weeks.

The Freshman will likely see the entire 4th quarter but its only fair to give the 2s and 3s some playing time first. I'd imagine the 2s play 2nd quarter, 2/3s play 3rd quarter and the Frosh play the 4th.

Beechwood looked a little sluggish at times vs NCC. Probably because they haven't played more than a half of football in 3 weeks. Time to go "Old School" and send the first team to the weight room as soon as they get out of the game.

I hate to say this but Beechwood can play their freshman team the entire game! Wishing Bracken County the best but I've seen them play twice and as recently as two weeks ago against Paris (lost 71-0). Beechwood's varsity will not get anything out of this.

I would love to see Bracken pull an upset, I'm sure the whole 1A would.

Beechwood takes it lightly on them, JV plays second half. Starters rest for round 2

Bracken Co 0

Bracken will be starting 5 Freshmen, 5 Sophomores, and 1 Junior. They have to be one of the youngest teams in the state. Bracken has fought hard all season despite their youth.

Unfortunately they will feel like they are taking college courses on Friday!

Trap game....just kidding

They actually have less than 4 kids that can drive themselves to practice... that has to be a record.

Bracken dominates Beechwood in mascot names, you got to love you some Polar Bears!

Where is Randy Parker in the prediction poll?
