  1. Round one goes to the Camels. I think most believe there will be a round two. Will we see a round three for the fourth time in five years?
  2. Panther fans: You live by the draw, you die by the draw.
  3. 6 classes benefits the kids. A few of you mentioned why: better competitive balance in district. There is a disparity in football in this state, and shrinking classes will result in less schools playing football. Shrinking classes, or even playoffs, isn't going to wave a magic wand and make games competitive for hour enjoyment (which, uh, reminder, is not the purpose of High School sports) The CFB Playoff only let 4 schools in (0.3%) and every game was a blowout. The NFL lets almost half of the league in and plenty of blowouts. 6 classes is best for kids, and blowouts in the playoffs will happen in a 2 class system.
  4. I’ve not seen the young man play so I am not going to comment on whether or not he could play for UK talent wise. One thing I will say is Cal is a great recruiter, but he usually doesn’t deal with the really crazy parents. I strongly doubt the kid will ever wear a UK uniform. I also think he will end up at a mid major because of his father. Some coach who thinks he can win his league for a year or two with the kid might be willing to deal with him, but I doubt blue bloods are truly interested.
  5. I’ve said it for years. Shorten the playoffs a week. For the teams that say they are the third or fourth best team in a really good district (Louisville schools) well... finish first or second.
  6. If you classify the basketball tournament you could have it anywhere. Rupp would no longer be needed.
  7. Teams used to hold the ball for whole quarters and play keep away. Historically there is no argument to stand on.
  8. You do know that 8/12 teams in this years state finals ran the ball heavily more than they threw? The spread isn’t the answer. It’s also not actually a system. Just a concept. But whatever.
  9. “That offense” created the best Scott High team ever. Led them to being a miracle Hail Mary from a state finals. And pounded teams repeatedly. “That offense” was just fine.
  10. I would vote for Murray. Speaking of Murray, since he is headed to play for the A’s in about two months what are the chances some NFL team drafts him late in the draft just to have his rights in case he ends up not being able to hit a curveball?
  11. I agree about Coach Letcher, he seems to find a way to be successful. Bracken looks to be improved from last year as well.
  12. This is a lame debate. Yes, they “earned” Home field by being in an even numbered region? I don’t think that there’s anyone who “earns” when it’s basically a random Home Field.
  13. Uh. They weren't asking for this. That's all I will say. But, the BC administration didnt have a choice in the matter.
  14. I am of the opinion that “getting” to host a game based on the year it is, is arbitrary at best, really actually asinine. I think all games should be on neutral field for 3/4 round. You could schedule it with nice high schools and colleges, with some work. Ohio does it.
  15. 7-0 TV at half. Per Richmond Register twitter
  16. Anderson county Sports TV on Facebook has a decent feed.
  17. I like six classes. I think for the most part it makes for more competitive football in the regular season. However, please go to just two teams per district in the playoffs. I understand in NKY and Louisville that means that some good teams may get left out. There is no perfect way to go about it, but that makes the most sense if the state were to stay with six classes.
  18. @ChiefSmoke used to do it at Mason. But stopped toward the end. Not sure if he does it at Mercer or not.
  19. Have the Bengals played at home on Sunday night since 2004? I know they have had quite a few MNF games at PBS but the last SNF game I recall at home was Carson's first start at home.
  20. Bracken plays NCC tonight, Ludlow on Saturday, and Bellevue-Dayton next week.
  21. Well, all I was trying to do was say “coaches argue” and assuming it was nothing more.
  22. The real question is “how” are we talking a physical altercations? Big deal. Did some coaches shout at each other? Just another day in a rough office.
