  1. After 1 scrimmage it's just a little too early to close the book on any team.
  2. How long is it expected to take for Powell and Bowling to get healthy?
  3. The Birds will be fine as always. With their depth and talent the odds of adding more hardware to the case in December are favorable.
  4. What were the offensive bright spots for both teams tonight? What were the defensive bright spots for both teams tonight?
  5. Any other offense tonight for Beechwood besides Vocke?
  6. IMO it's really not about showing too much. It's more about focusing on the top priorities. For a scrimmage it's more about making sure the fine details work in a game situation. Substitutions, alignments, formations, eliminating penalties, play calling, working out the wrinkles and the kinks, etc. This is the tune up and the test drive before the race.
  7. Did SK ever settle on the starting QB? Wasn't there a senior and a sophomore competing for the spot?
  8. Smart coaches don't "show their hand" in a scrimmage. Why would they? Scrimmages are to work out the kinks. Get down substitutions, alignments, assignments, etc. That's why they're called scrimmages. Unless 1 teams is significantly superior to the other, most scrimmages end close as far as scoring because that's not what the scrimmage is for. Most coaches don't place much merit in a scrimmage "win". It's just part of the preseason preparation. Sure, it's always nice to say "we won" but until it counts toward the season record, it doesn't count. In this scrimmage, my prediction is that it should either end in a tie or maybe CCH gets the "win" by 1 score.
  9. It seems like Conner would be in the top 10 in 5A after dropping down from 6A. Especially with a top recruit at QB with such a talented corps of receivers.
  10. Every team loses key players every year but with a great coaching staff that knows how to get it done combined with off season discipline in the weight room and the tradition, the NCC pride and determination the Breds will have a great season.
  11. Great news for both young men! Any chance the head to head game on 9/1 will be televised?
  12. That's impressive! How did Towles do in the 7 on 7 competition?
  13. Congrats to Zeke at Elite 11. Did the Elite 11 competition have 7 on 7?
  14. TP, you "stirring the proverbial pot"? I love it . Mayfield has certainly earned it. IMO free Beechwood "mind reading" will be available quite often this season. At least until they travel to Mayfield in late November. Hopefully this season it will at least be a game and not another pounding but Beechwood just can't get over that Cardinal "hump"!
  15. It's a scrimmage. It'll be close because it's a scrimmage. If it was a regular season game it would not be. It would be X by 4 TDs. How can a 6A powerhouse possibly lose to a 1A school? This just makes no sense. SK should pound Beechwwod by 4 TDs like X would beat SK in a game.
  16. Time will certainly tell with the QBs mentioned so far. Most of the "top 6" will play or at least scrimmage each other which should make for some exciting games this fall for football fans.
  17. Makes sense. He will no doubt be missed.
  18. That will be too bad. He is an athlete that can help on both sides of the ball.
