Can we close the book on Simon Kenton?

Featured Replies

Normally getting drilled by X wouldn't be that big of a deal but X is probably down a little this year and they wiped Simon out. With that in mind can we close the book on Simon or is this just a scrimmage?

Depends on what the end of the book was going to be.

And Coach Marksberry is going to be thrilled with this thread.

It's a scrimmage and hopefully Simon will benefit greatly from it. Will they win 6A? NO. But maybe it will benefit them enough to take them far in the playoffs.

Then again, maybe not.

ST X is a good team a down year for them is 3 losses. SK will be fine!

I have talked with Coach Marksberry, he gets it. I am sure he is none too happy with his team.

If the book's title is "How to Talk Smack" close it and burn it. SK will have a nice team and probably a winning record given the schedule, but hold off on the trash talking until you win a game vs the big boys.

SK got beat pretty bad last year by Middletown and still had a great year!

I was there and SK will give teams up here fits, St X has 102 plus player's and his very good discipline team and the fans I sat with are great. Do Not count SK out they have a few injuries and will be fine up here. JD

Depends on what book we are talking about. I'm not going to say the seasons over after 11 days of practice and a beat down in a scrimmage but they didn't look good tonight. Tons of work to do and ten games left on the slate. I know coach Marksberry and his staff are more than capable of molding this team into a solid squad but Chad Lawrence and Miles aren't walking thorough the door. They will have to be able to run the rock and I think they will improve in that aspect once Powell and Bowling are healthy.

SK will be fine in terms of NKY in 6A, it's just going up against the big boys that makes you look bad. Welcome to NKY 6A unfortunately.

In another thread a couple of months ago I said 4-6, possibly 3-7, at least a few others thought the same. I still stand by those numbers.

As far as?

Agreed, but I'm pretty sure after tonight you'd also likely agree too. No team other than Trinity is winning 6A, it's like the other teams are playing to see who can make it the most interesting.

A list of SK "Smack Talkers" would likely be short, round, unliked, and pathetic. But mostly what I meant was that there really aren't many(any), other than the fake that has no corrolation with the team.
