I could see para-professionals being the "new" big protocol. There are a lot of super qualified coaches out there that are not teacher certified. I could see it going this way, and no one would ever bat an eye. Athletics are 3rd fiddle at most places in the state, and unfortunately the coaches and parents probably care a great deal more than the administration does about wins and losses, stature, etc...

Another South Oldham snub... The running back was the best in the district in my opinion. At least this is the last year being paired with the NKY district. I know, I know sour grapes...

Congrats to the Dragons on winning the district 3 years straight (3 #1 seeds). It was said 4 years ago that South wouldn't compete with the NKY schools. In that time with 3 different quarterbacks and 3 different different defensive play callers, I just wanted to give a shout out to the coaches and players. Hopefully... , this year we will find a way to make a playoff run. Thanks to all you NKY fans, it has been fun to read all the comments over the last 4 years. Our new district doesn't post on message boards so... Go luck to all during the playoffs, just not against the Dragons!

Hopefully someone tells Scott to be prepared for the Conner DL to cut them when they try to block, not just on goal-line, but EVERY SNAP... What do you tell kids that aspire to play college ball, when you have them cut the blockers every play? :sssh:

If Scott beats Conner, SO gets the one seed, not Cooper...

Just curious... how does a kid that's a DL respond when the coaches strategy is not for them to make plays, just cut the guys in front of you.

Looks pretty rough for S0 right now. 3peat is in serious jeopardy. Magic show looks to be gone. We will struggle mightly againt Grant Co next week.

FSB... Just talking in terms of people not understanding that it is up to the HC to make the decisions about his/her program. I have had many conversations with fans/coaches that seem to think that a HC must poll everyone before making a decision. I do agree that there are HC's out there who are laid back, but I think the normal course of action is to hire good assistants but inform them of how your program is ran, lead and they should follow loyally. I have seen many places where the HC's are fired, and the assistants keep their positions and the cycle repeats itself. So I am a big believer that the HC should chart the course as he/she see's fit because if the axe falls, the assistants are normally fine. So kudos to all head coaches who "Lead" their programs with their vision like Coach J...

Way to hit the nail square on the head. I have found that it takes special assistants to understand the chain of command, or the head coaches wishes. Only one will be ultimately held accountable and the buck starts and stops with you. Good luck this season.

Spring practice doesn't make or break a season, but basketball workouts sure can put a big dent in it if your best players are out shooting hoops from the end of the bb season till July 15th. People with turf fields generally have to share with other sports (middle school soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, the freakin lockness monster, etc.) and unless you are at a "Football" school, which there aren't generally that many in KY you get used to getting what you can. With any luck we should try to get 7v7 through June and July like in the past. JMHO...
