It really was not the Ryle fans staying away. There were literally only a handful of PRP fans that made the trip.

The officiating at every level this year has been very poor. The concerning thing here is that the officials could not get together and talk this "penalty" through. If a camera man was involved and the ref blew a call the crew should be able to get together, sort it out, and wave the flag if necessary. Referees in this area enjoy being a big part of the game.

The Ryle/Highlands game has nothing to do with the 6A race.

I don't think you can compare the two teams but I saw Boone play for the title against ST X when Shaun A was playing. They were one pass away from winning that game, twice having the ball inside the ten but could not punch it in. My point is that SK probably has more offensive options than Boone had then. The QB for SK is also a very potent runner and can pass enough to be dangerous. I think that SK would have to play a GREAT game to play with either Trinity or ST X, but it can be done.

Ryle ran the table this year. It is impressive to win eight straight in any league, especially against the level of competition that Ryle played. To comment that you never came away impressed is stupid. I am not impressed with your knowledge of football or IQ.

Ryle did lose to SK in a big way but they could still match up to many of the teams in the top ten, especially the bottom 5. SK is just that good this year and gaining momentum. They would probably beat most of the 6A teams bad right now. I would not drop Ryle or any of the other Boone County schools down too far in 6A. They can play with just about anyone.

This game was not close. Ryle was much better last night and they left many points on the field. I also disagree that Conner moved the ball up and down the field all night. They moved the ball well at times, many of which when the outcome had already been decided. Conner is a good team but Ryle was better in all phases.

No, Ryle plays Campbell Co this week. The playoffs start the week after.

Believe me, I have coached in the area for a long time. SK will give Trinity all they want.

Everyone has to remember that when Boone plays Ryle, Ryle plays Conner, Cooner plays Boone, etc, all records and previous games go out the window. When Boone County teams play against one another it is an all out war. Boone County played great today and got early momentum from a bobbled punt return. If that play does not happen, it could have been a different game. All credit to Boone for playing great defense against Ryle's running game. In the end Ryle did what it had to do to win. Jake Ashley hit Tanner Pulice with a key 4th and 13 pass and Meade hit a clutch 34 yarder. Just win baby.

I am a Ryle guy but from what I saw the other night I think SK can play with anyone. They have a lot of athletes, team speed, and the best one two rushing punch in the state.

The same Boone County pee wee system has fed Ryle, Boone, and Cooper with some great talent.

Conner has some very strong players on it's roster. It is a little disappointing to see them lose so many games this year. They should be much better than 1-5.

Trenton Fugate of Ryle is one of the best receivers in the area. He should definitely be on the list.

All due respect to Voice of Reason and to Cooper because they do have some very good athletes, but there is no way they would be in the discussion this year. They have not played the upper tear schedule compared to teams like Ryle, CCH, Highlands, SK, etc. If Cooper blows two small schools away that would be great but it is being decided on the field between the 4 schools mentioned above. Cooper should have played up where they belong. Until they do, nothing to discuss.

I would not question the top three in your poll, but teams like Ryle, Boone County, Conner would beat many of the teams on this list, especially some of the smaller schools. I would definitely think that Ryle warrants a top 15 in the state.

No disrespect to SK because they are a very good team. Ryle did put their two's in prematurely and SK punched in a TD against them. Ryle put their 1 defense back in for the 2 pt conversion and recovered the on side kick.

I was at the Ryle/CCH game and it was one of the better freshman football games you could see. Big plays throughout the game: Cov Cath jumped out on top 14-0 on some big Beatrice runs. Ashley to Osborne TD pass for Ryle cut the lead in half. Pulice ripped off a big run to bring Ryle close (blocked xtra point) Back and forth from that point including a 41 yard field goal from Ryle, a clutch interception from Wil Bloom of Ryle, and a diving TD run by CCH's Blake Bir. I did not see anyone beating themselves.

So was Highlands. Ryle held them to 13.

High School football is a Friday night game. Why should CCH be allowed to be different and have other schools change their routine for them. That is absurd.

I am not trying to stir the spot too strongly as I have played in the area and have many of good friends that played at CCH but respectfully High School football is a Friday night event. Saturday games are a disruption to most people and Cov Cath should not hide behind the "tradition" excuse. They should get lights or play all away games.
