Ryle 25 Simon Kenton 18 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

I just got back from a wet wet game.

It really hurt Simon Kenton more than Ryle.

Game was closer than the score indicates but also not as close as the score indicates.

I might be wrong but from what I remember SK had 6 turnovers, 2 from interceptions and and the other four from fumbles. Of those four I believe they were all unforced as in dropped balls from the rain.

Ryle jumped out to a 13-0 lead and it looked like it may get ugly. SK finally put someone in on the weekside end to counter the run attack and ryle staggered.

SK had no problem moving the ball on Ryle. Sk's problems came in the red zone, where they were 1-4 or so, once from the 1 yard line, once from the 5 yard line and I believe the other was from the 14. Only 6 points came out of these 4 trips.

It was a hard fought game for the most part as SK's play calling was predictable and they refused to throw a pass over the wide open middle.

I don't see Ryle winning a rematch.

Ryle also recovered an onside kick to open the half and had a lineman return a fumble for a TD.

Ryle did what they had to do.

I think Ryle ended up with two turnovers. 1 pick and 1 fumble

I guess I left to soon. Ryle was up by 19 when I left. Who is #45 for S.K. ? WOW is he fast!

Let me guess- you are a SK fan. Didn't both teams have to play in the same conditions?

Why not give Ryle credit- they did it again. CovCath missed a extra point to send into OT against them and they just gave Ryle credit and even though they self-destructed they admitted they didn't deserve to win the game.

Hey, both teams played in the wet conditions. So, the fact that Ryle had just 1 turnover with their first team was impressive.

More impressive, though, Ryle's Defense. Just before half, Ryle threw an interception that #45 returned to the 2 before being caught - evidently not as fast as the Ryle RB. The Ryle defense held SK from scoring - a great defensive series.

#24 Pulice - over 200 yds rushing and 2 TD's. Very tough. And with 9-10 in the box.

The only reason this game wasn't a 32-12 game was that Ryle put their second team offense and defense in for 2 series in the 4th quarter.

I thought Ryle would win...

I do see Ryle winning a rematch. SK scored 2 touchdowns on the 2's of Ryle's defense. If you saw the same game as I did, you would have noticed weather conditions were the same for both teams. And Sk really didnt do a whole of yard gaining off there first defense, except for #45. IMO the better team won.

I don't see Ryle losing a game for the rest of the year - with the likes of Dixie, Boone and Campbell County left...they will likely go undefeated - assuming they show up each week. Pretty impressive with that early year schedule.

I think they win those handily but it will be tough to beat HHS or Cov Cath in the playoffs again. Great job winning the first round with those though.

I did give Ryle credit. I said they did what they had to do to win. Ryle never put their two's in, on either side of the ball. SK had no trouble marching into the red zone, once they got there play calling went down the tube.

No disrespect to SK because they are a very good team. Ryle did put their two's in prematurely and SK punched in a TD against them. Ryle put their 1 defense back in for the 2 pt conversion and recovered the on side kick.

Ryle played well, handling the conditions as expected. SK did not handle them and looked awful offensively- too predictable. The play calling by SK was awful. If your QB and the RB put it on the turf, you lose, plain and simple.

After the first half, the defensive adjustment by SK evened out the game. Ryle definitely deserved to win this game, although their offense did little to nothing in the second half.

If your an SK fan, that's two poorly played games in a row. Will adjustments be made or will you continue to make the same mistakes??

Coach- I believe I saw Ryle go deep into the bench in the middle of the 4th quarter when your QB made that dive at the pylon for the last TD.

So much for the game how did that new sweat shirt hold up???

Highlands played terrible the first time they played Ryle. I think the outcome might be a little different if they meet in the playoffs. I believe CovCath, Ryle, and HHS are all pretty close. I think any of those three tems could beat each other on any given night..
